I was scrolling Indeed and came across a job opening that I had applied for a few times and never received a response. I have the qualifications and really wanted to work there so I called! I kindly asked if there was an issue with my resume. She took my name and number. Within 10 minutes I had a call and an interview! I got hired on the spot! It's an Assisted living facility in DeLand where my mom lived until she passed last year so it feels like home to me. I'm so happy and excited to be their next Front Desk associate. Oh..and both of my interviewers stated they never saw my resume. They had received one in July that would not open.

I'm in Georgia. I applied for unemployment in late April. After months of receiving nothing along with no answering the phone at GDOL or my emails, I contacted my state congressman and ultimately the governor's office. Finally, I started receiving benefits back to mid-June but not to April. I guess anything is better than nothing... #unemployment

This is something to think about. This is my opinion and only my opinion. It is in no intent to offend anyone who reads this.

Over the past few weeks, I attended a meeting and heard of stories why people are refusing to return to work over wages. I will share my story with you. It started with me finding a job. I started applying for many positions only to be let down over and over again. Finally, I got the call on a Friday afternoon offering me a position. Excited at first until it came to the wage topic. Unfortunately, we will not be able to pay you what you are asking. However, if you are willing to take the offer they is always room to grow? I accepted the challenge of lower wages. After all some money was better than no money at all? I started the job with the thought of proving I am worth more. Before I knew it 75 days later and I was being called into the supervisors office. Thinking I was in trouble for something, being closed minded at the time. The supervisor started out by saying you have been here for 75 days, you never complained, you showed up on time and did your job. You helped others when needed, you stayed later and didn’t ask for pay. Today, we would like to offer you a supervisor position. What do you think? I accepted it and it pays much more than expected. The moral of the story is sometimes you might not get what you want but they is always room for growth. #advice #successstory

Last summer I was let go/quit after 16 years of delivering pkgs. Rested for two weeks then resumed the search. It took two months but had four job offers on the same day. Now I find myself in a similar position after an injury caused a termination. I have one new job and three possibilities. Keep looking whether you are 73 or 37, keep looking. You will find something you like. It is like a dance floor, get out there.

I have been out of work since the end of February with not one penny from unemployment. I reach out to the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor....never heard anything. I reached out to the state senator for my county and after all of these months my problem has been resolved. Thank you all for the advise on reaching out to someone. And...I finally got a job at 62! #unemployment
