Hi Everyone! My name is Janessa "Kimiko" Dugan. (Middle name is preferred - pronouns: she/her)

I am currently transitioning out of the Marine Corps medically. I have served just over nine years and have a writing, photography, videography and graphic design background. I was in public affairs for a few years before working at combat camera and now COMMSTRAT, which is the new specialty created by merging the two former fields.

In addition to COMMSTRAT, I have also served as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate for about five years and counting. One desired career route I am looking into is serving as a SAPR Response Coordinator at an installation.

My dream is to work in the film industry. I have strong writing skills and have been creating content within the Marine Corps for almost the entirety of my career, save for the training periods.

I currently have a secret clearance that is set to expire next year - open to renewing if a job opportunity provides.

I am halfway to a BFA: Writing for Motion Pictures and Television at Academy of Art University and am currently looking into transferring to UCLA for a similar degree.

I am open to a wide variety of employment fields at this time. While something in creative arts is preferred, I have a pretty broad skillset and am a seriously fast learner. Highly adaptable.

My husband and I were dual-enlisted for about five-and-a-half years, so we know the meaning of flexibility, challenge, and work-life balance.
