After being laid off a few months back. The past four months have been stressful and full of rejection. I know that it might sound like a broken record but do not give up. I made looking for a career my full time job and treated every interview like it was just practice for the “right opportunity”. I start my new career tomorrow and it is an amazing opportunity. Do not settle and do not give up. The four months when I was searching seemed like a lifetime, but when I look back at all of the rejections, I am so glad I did not get offer’s because the perfect position was waiting for me! #nevergiveup

Thanksgiving is almost here and it’s time to...well, be thankful : ) The truth is when you’re looking for work it isn’t always easy to feel your best. The stories I am about to share are from people JUST like you who have been where you are right at this very moment. They were without a job, nervous, unsure, but hopeful that they would find a great opportunity. Well guess what?! They found it, and they were kind enough to share their journeys with us!

I hope these posts inspire you to know that if they can do it, so can YOU! As one of my favorite sayings goes,“You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” Don’t give up, no matter what. We are here to help! So let’s congratulate these folks, ask them questions and learn from them. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday next week. I am grateful to be apart of this community of strong, brilliant, and awesome individuals! You truly amaze us everyday.

I am a retired navy Veteran of 20 years! I know things are very tough out there right now. I would like to share some positive motivation with all of you! I learned the power of continued PERSISTENCE! The power to make things happen. When applying for a job, try to physically be seen by your potential employer. Display enthusiasm while in the building, smile! Do you realize how powerful a simple smile is? It actually produces a positive, happy environment! Try it and see what happens! Tell them how wonderful it would be working with them! Do not be afraid to be different. This is how i got hired with a security company after i retired from the Navy. This will not work all of the time. This is where continued PERSISTENCE plays it's role! Wait a few days and repeat the same above steps. Yes, go back again! And again! 2 possible outcomes. You will be hired, or told not to come back. Repeat until hired! I guarantee you will be noticed! SMILE, ENTHUSIASM, CONTINUED PERSISTENCE! Now get out there and take it!

I left a job that I loved after the premature birth of my son. I ended up getting a new job but after 6 months we re located and I put in my two weeks. I took that as an opportunity to get back in with the company I loved. I filled out several applications and was invited to several interviews but no one ever seemed to get back to me. I have always been the type of person to land a job on the spot even if I was not fully qualified. Needless to say, it was very discouraging to me to have several interviews but no offers. I had a total of 15 applications with this company in various positions/departments. This week I got an offer and it payed more than I expected! Persistence and patience definitely payed off. Never stop trying and never give up on what you desire.

I saw this infographic on Angry Birds today and wanted to share it. I don't know if its true, but suspect it is! Tenacity, never giving up, is a big part of success! Good luck being tenacious today!!! Fred
