I was so excited to get a new job, but then they told me that in order to start working I am going to need to pay $400 to the union AND that they will deduct money from my check every month! WTF, really?? They want people to pay to work?!

I want to know, how you can be working for a Temp Agency making 11.25 an hour? Get hired full-time by the company and only make 10 dollars an hour. Something is not right about that. I wonder if my daughter is lying to me? I thought you would make more. Right?

Hi, I recently got an internship as a college accounting major with a small firm (eight people). I'm very excited but also very scared I'm going to mess up and disappoint the people I'm working with and embarrass the person who recommended me. I'm supposed to be replacing that person starting next week, and I feel overwhelmed by the amount of work and autonomy I'm going to have. I'm getting training, but I still feel like I'm going to mess up. I can't constantly ask others for help because everyone at the firm is so busy (especially now, since they're in the process of moving offices), but at the same time, I feel unsure of how things work and I know I need to ask. I'm only getting one more day of training before the work gets handed to me.
How should I prepare myself? How should I ask for help when I need it? What are some advice or tips you may have for me?
Thanks in advance!

Okay, so its going pretty good so far , so good. But one thing that is driving me up the wall is the language barrier. Oh my gosh, its awful. I work with a complete spanish speaking person. And the woman understand when i say it in english, but her to say anything in english back is like NO WAY. .. I'm finding it frustrating trying to be trained and visually watch and try to comprehend what it is that she is saying . I finally decided to speak with the manager. And he agreed, its hard when you dont' know what they are saying. He said he is still getting use to it. So here's my question""How is it possible to behired on a pretty huge name brand and work for so long longer than 5 years and no one say a word that this woman can't speak english? that is something that i will never understand. And most are making good money hourly? See how that "click" of culture seems to only keep that better pay rates for "themselves" in their own spanish speaking groups? Look around, its obvious.

I started at my job earlier this year and I think it's been going pretty well. But that's it - I only think. I have no idea if I'm doing a good job or if I need any improvement. I was supposed to have a performance review after 6 months, but it's now been 8. I feel like people aren't quite as nice as they used to be, so I'm concerned I've done something wrong. What should I do so I can make sure I'm still doing the right things?

Hello community, last Friday was my first payday at my new job..it's very rough. paid two weeks rent and the rest went to the loan I took out to pay for the back rent. left me with $38 dollars for a metro card for one week. This will happen for the next six paychecks. But it's ok. GOD will help me figure out how to get through this. As long as I put in the work and help GOD help me.. Everything will work itself out. I may have a job and I'm broke, but I am happy.. if that makes since. Thanks again JOBCASE COMMUNITY. Hi all. Yes, I am still looking and yes, working in a very interesting private school full time.. However, my question is this: I have gone on an interview with a nationally known restaurant chain for a part time host position. .I was informed to come to orientation this past Monday but to wait on the link so that I can do the initial onboarding. I haven't received the link, I called the person who interviewed me to ask if I was still to be coming on board ( he said yes) and mentioned that I haven't received the link. Should I call again or go by there or just wait? Thanks all!

I've just got hired about a week ago on Wednesday and Thursday they had me go in and do some training videos then after they said they will call me back bit I haven't gotten any calls yes I've texted my manager to give her my new number but no reply then I texted her monday still no reply what should I do or think

Hired for a new job and undergoing 3 weeks of training. I’m having a hard time learning the job with the trainer they assigned to get the class ready for the floor. One more week before hitting the call center floor and I don’t feel prepared at all. How can I address this without being removed from class or fired?

I already handed in my two weeks notice and resignation letter but my new employer wants me to start working earlier. Should I just stop coming in or re-type another resignation letter with a new date?
