It is a rewarding but stressful experience. I spent 23 years there. It is a very hugh bureaucracy with a lot of dedicated people but also a lot of small, petty people. There are a lot of kids with great needs. The caseloads and workloads are large and unmanageable but one manages.

The best benefit at #NYCDeptOfEducation(Dist#18) was definitely...

My best benefit while working at Dist 18, NYC Dept Of Education was the support that I received which helped make my job easier and more effective. In addition, I am always looking to better my skills and knowledge base and my district offered many wonderful professional development seminars and workshops. This district had many fine counselors, teachers, SBST and administrators. I don’t know who is still around since I retired but when I was working there it was one of the finest districts in Bklyn.
