my biggest mistake was allowing chemicals to spill on my coverall and trying to wash it off with water ,big big error in judgement , later my skin started to burn and I had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
the plant was a turn around or test and inspection, the furnace was being repaired and some shoddy work was being done. I took the matter to the plant superintendent who reported it to the maintenance superintendent,and to my great surprise he told me that I was not qualified to make such a statement,I said that my experience does not count for anything . we left and nothing was done to change the quality of the work.
the gentleman was a contractor hired by our company to carry out causes on the furnace for frequent failures, I was informed by my company not to give persons other than permanent employees any information about the plant's equipment. I followed this and to my surprise , the said gentleman got annoyed when he could not get any information so much so that he reported that I used expletives or fowl language, that never happened in all my years working.
