If you are sincere about treating people the way you would want to be treated under the same circumstances then being a Dallas Police Officer is the job for you.

It's a very hard and tough job. It take alot of critical thinking in your decision making. Your safety is not guaranteed at no time. You might tirn up for work and it is your last day alive

I’ve been a firefighter going on 12yrs and now looking to transfer to the police dept within the same town. I always wanted to become a police officer but I was told that I have to resign from my current position which is fine but would have to start from step one in pay. I’m currently at top pay and vested in the pension system. I’m already apart of city’s budget and you think it would be a simple rollover. I really want to do it but can’t afford the lost in pay. It would take 13yrs to get back to top pay and I only have 14yrs left. Just upset me that they won’t honor my city and pension time being that it’s the same City!
