Branding helps you to define your business to yourself, to your team, and most importantly, to your esteemed clients. It’s how you define your business to yourself as an individual. In many cases, it takes hard work, time, and vulnerability for a person to open up. Most would rather prefer to wear a mask to cover up what they consider as imperfect. However, the human imperfections and vulnerabilities that make you who you are, are the very qualities that need more exposure so that your audience can relate and get to know you.

You should take a professional headshot for your Profile picture.

Where Your Headshot Appears On The Web:

It’s crazy how many places it ends up;

Twitter Facebook Blog comments Your bio page(s) on your website Instagram Linkedin Email profiles (for example my Rapportive plugin shows photos of people) WordPress accounts Online communities (like Inbound.org) Screenshots or embeds in people’s blog posts Cover photos for presentations ONE photo equals INFINITE opportunities to make a positive impression – and promote your personal brand.

This article shows you how to take a professional headshot with your phone: http://www.sitebuilderreport.com/blog/how-to-take-your-own-professional-headshot-with-an-iphone

I've been scrolling through profiles this week and I wanted to share a tip with you all. There are too many selfies in the mirror and sideways pictures. I know they may look good on Instagram and Facebook, but lets leave them there. Keep it professional and grab a friend to snap your profile picture. It is your first impression, so make it a good one fam!

If potential employers are also on Jobcase seeking candidates and perusing our profiles then it's a very good idea to check our postings prior to posting. Unfortunately we are judged on many things. Taking a moment to review before hitting post is fleeting, but a first impression is lasting.

Any advice on how to update my profile with a fabulous heading when I'm looking for work? I can't fall back on current employment. Anyone else with this conundrum?

I think the picture speaks for itself.

If you are looking for a good book to read to inspire you, I HIGHLY recommend Jen Sincero's "You Are A Badass."
