I have a Felony. Would anyone hire me? I have completed everything required of my sentence. It's being reduced down. I just want to be honest going through the door. #jobsearch #interview

To everyone that has given a response, I so appreciate every one of them. You really wouldn't understand how much it means. I am my worst critic. It took me a long time to want to even look at myself. With support, I was able to see that good person again.

Thank you all,

Steven Zopfi

Try and have your record expunged and it will no longer exist. Depending on the class of felony will determine if the judge will consider expunging.

I have applied at multiple places. All is great til the background. I live in Bronte Tx. Have lots of experience in many areas. Not afraid of hard work or to get dirty. And love to learn new things. No 1 would be disappointed if I could only get a chance. An opportunity. I could prove myself from that point on. Its stressful.

Temp agencies with alot of openings. The few companies that dont do background checks, "felony friendly". Independent contractor jobs can sometimes be "felony friendly". Mcdonalds, Home Depot have hired ex felons, depending on circumstances. Day labor sites can get you some days work, if not fun jobs. It all depends on when your conviction was, and to some extent what it was for. Violent vs. non violent, etc. Alot of companies go back 7-10 years from date of conviction. some do life time though, you dont know. Also if you're on an arrest, mugshot site, that can be another issue. Each state has different laws as well, some states are better for second chances than others. The U.S. is not so progressive about this as some other countries, especially Germany etc. in Europe. Hopefully in time you'll have a chance to escape the U.S. "job ghetto" ...
