Good Afternoon all...

I'm in need of some advise here. Currently I live in NJ, and I've been commuting back and forth to NYC for work for the past 18 years & I am drained! I work in the Operations/Wholesale field which I've been in this current company for 3 years which I love. Well, I've decided that I will relocate to NC by the summer of 2020, and will like to remain in this position. What are some good pointers or pitches that I can bring to my employers attention to allow for me to work remotely. FYI- there are a certain number of employees which work remotely from other countries, but I'm sure it's to cut cost.... thoughts?

So I just took a leap of faith and moved from a small town to large city. The move was well needed. Anyways I applied to many places before I came up in hopes to have a job ready for me when I came. I had 3 interviews lined up for my first week, and all on the same day. I went to the 1st one and the interview seemed to went well. However as I watch the staff I would be working with no one had a smile and all look real unhappy. I then go to my next Interview the Interview went well because I was offered the job during the interview and I took it. The pay was fare. I than messaged the 3rd Interview to tell them I was offered a job somewhere else and I would not be coming for the interview and thanked them for taking the time to scaled a interview. Two days went by and the 1st interview contacts me and offer me the same job as the one I took but for $1/hour more than I was offered from the job I took. So after considering the offer and I decided to turn the higher paying job down. Solely based on the fact the staff all seemed nerviness and unhappy. I have been at the lower paying job for 1 week now and I Like the job and all the people I have meat working so far.

Do you think taking the lower paying job was a good Idea?

When my 30 day comes the manager will review my work and stuff and I know I am doing great everyone around has told me so. Should I ask for the $1/hour more and use the messages between me and the Higher paying manager as leverage to get the extra $1/hour from my current job?

I am looking for a job in Houston, TX. I plan to relocate very soon but I don’t want to do that until I find a job. I am currently an Electronic Payment Coordinator for our local utility company. I make almost $30 per hour, free health, vision, dental, and Life insurance, and I am struggling to find a job with the same type of pay and benefits. I know the benefits are a reach, however, if there is anyone in the Houston area who knows of any available Positions in the area with similar pay please let me know. Thanks!

So we moved to California about 3 months ago. I’ve always worked, unemployment doesn’t suit me, but this is getting ridiculous. It seems like every job that calls me in for an interview is nothing but a sales pitch. I go in thinking it’s a real interview, just to be tossed in large groups of people (who thought the same thing) just to be stuck listening to yet another version of the SAME sales pitch! Seriously, in Cali it takes an hour plus to get ANYwHeRE and these people suck me into making the drive, to listen to a 2 hour presentation, to be told that the job pays nothing, they’ll give you leads and you make some ridiculous commission, but first pay for this certificate ( As they tell you it’s super easy....and online) but they don’t pay for training ; the upside however is that you can make your own schedule. Ridiculous. I need a job! How is this even legal?! Oh and don’t even get me started on unemployment agencies. I had the best interview of my life.... heard NOTHING back! I called multiple times and the agent is ALWaYs with a client, and has yet to respond. Someone please tell me how I’m supposed to find a REaL job, you know one that pays REaL money when I’m constantly being pulled by scam artists with pyramid schemes. I’ve gotten to the point where I won’t even accept the interview if 1) I can’t find any info on the company online, or 2) they can’t tell me over the phone what the job pays...

I found a job by telling the employer, after the first interview, that I was going fishing. That seemed to impress them so they made a good offer. It does require relocating and relo was on the table.

I find today's job searching cumbersome and impersonal as it all takes place behind e-mails and employment websites. One such website continues to send me insurance jobs even though my resume clearly indicates I am in another profession. I am now starting to knock on my peers doors to network the old fashion way, it seems to be gleaning results. Does anyone out there have the same experience?

Well hello everyone! I left my old job that I had for six years as a Home Care Aide to move back to Tennessee. My husband and I been here for going on two months and my family already on us about getting jobs. It's so upsetting that sometimes I cry at night. we've been going to the library for a minute and nothing had came through. I even applied for a fast food job but nothing. My phones been shut off for almost a month now so the only way I can be contacted is through email. I'm so depressed and my family isn't making it any better. it's putting a strain between my husband and myself. I'm crying right now as I'm typing ( I don't want anyone feel sorry for me) I just need some answers

Update: So I just got a call back from a company I applied for and I was hired. The only place that hired me was the one place that didn't asked if I had children, so in that case I feel like I was disqualified from other jobs because of me having children. Sad part is it's something I can't prove, but like U said in the past, I know my worth and it's their loss.

I recently relocated to Texas from South Florida. Hard times came about back home which caused me to move in which I'm staying with my parents until my husband can get transferred from his job. I've been sending out my resumes and have gotten 5 interviews so far. As far as the interviews go, they seem to like me, plus I have 13 years experience in the medical field, but then they ask if I have children, and once I answer yes it seems like they end the interview right there and then to tell me we will call you. I feel like I keep getting denied jobs because I have 2 little ones and its starting to get discouraging.
