My favorite thing about working at Family Dollar has been getting to know the members of my community who come in to shop. I know most by name. We have GREAT customers, the best really! My co-workers are great too. This job has kind of set the bar high for all other retail jobs.
Waste of time if your just apart of the support team. Homeless people work in Macy's. And take shits on top of the toilet seat.
I have been working at Macy's since 2011 and just recently have begun to manage my floor. I love all the customers I get to meet and help. I had one last week come to our shoe department who was looking for some wedding shoes for her big day. She also brought her 11 bridesmaids...ELEVEN! I had like 2 at my wedding, but I guess go big or go home. So they all needed matching shoes at the bride's request and she needed some different ones for herself. I took the time with one of my sales associates to find them all what they needed. It took almost two hours, but all the women left happy. The bride hugged me and said she would write a letter to corporate about her wonderful experience. It really made my day!!
Dont do it! The pay sucks and the managers are terrible! All they care about is their bottom dollar..employees be damned. If you want to work somewhere where you will be taken advantage of and worked to death this is the ideal job
My advise into working who are interested in getting a job at Dicks is if your attending College its a good place to start. Make sure they work with your scheduled because in some locations they hire a lot of people witch makes it difficult for some that lives out of the city and rely on that job specifically. Leads are their to help you out for any questions. Most of the people that work their do attend college. I f you enjoy sports and love been in places where it gets busy because time does fly in Dicks then I don't see why not to apply.

I like the business and seeing all the customers buying their xmas gifts for their families. I also like helping people 2 so that might be why. I know it's going to be nuts tho! Ahhhhhh!! Anyone have any tips on how to survive?!
It's a fun place to work, but you should be ready to handle complaints you don't know about, like a sales personnel being accused of food and beverages, learn to be quick and first in handling situations, and learn an extra language, it's an added advantage
