I was proud to work for #SanDiegoPadres/MajorLeagueBaseball because

From 2009 to 2019, I served as Coordinator, Guest Accessibility Services for the San Diego Padres / Major League Baseball. My responsibilities included all things disability at Petco Park. Perhaps what I am most proud of is helping individuals with disabilities to venture back to the ballpark. You see, I was once like them. After the onset of my disability, I was also afraid. That is, until a dear friend (almost) literally dragged me back to the ballpark. You know something? It wasn’t that bad and it became easier each time. Sometime later, after reaching my position with the Padres, I had the opportunity to do for many, what my dear friend had done for me. It wasn’t always easy but I still keep every letter that I received from fans with disabilities grateful that they had trusted the encouragement and promise that once again, they could experience the thrill “Take me out to the ballgame” just as I once did ⚾️
