What jobs would I be looking out for

Ok I'm 39 years old and have now come to the completion of hemodialysis treatment technician. The younger people I'm my class have all secured interviews or jobs!II'm finishing at the top of my class! I have applied for about 10 opened positions and no call backs! I have been self employeed for the last 5 years as a residental housekeeper which grew to the point where I could make ends meet for me and my daughter but always wanted a career and now I feel like it was all for nothing! I've worked really hard! Forcing myself to over come fears that I've never thought possible! The confidence I gain is slowly drifting away! If there's any advice to how to better construct my resume/cover letter to maybe secure a position! Thanks in advance!
