My advice to people interested in working at #ShannonClinic201EArizonaAve.Sweetwater,Tx as a #Physician ...
While Shannon owned the Sweetwater Clinic they were great employers, and treated employees well. In 2016, Shannon sold the clinic to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Prior to 2013 we physicians owned the clinic, but sold it to Shannon when Obama care was passed.

There was a surgeon in town who was not good at his craft. Another physician and I had the hospital Peer Review committee pull all of records for review. The committee agreed that there was a problem, but only decreased a very few procedures that he could perform. In retrospect, I should have reported him to the Board.

As a physician, every day was stressful. However, the stress would dramatically worsen if the ICU nurse called me around 4:30 or so to tell me that two doctors wanted me to consult on their sick ICU patients. That would mean that I probably wouldn't finish until sometime after 10PM.

My patients and I got along well! with the advent of Obamacare's mandated use of the electronic health record, I had to waste time on the computer -- thus running later than usual. If someone complained to me about the wait time, I apologized deeply for their inconvenience, but also explained why it occurred.

I loved working at Shannon! I love Medicine, my nurse Michelle (who worked with me for the entire 15 years that I was in Sweetwater) was extraordinary! My colleagues and I got along well; the nursing staff did their jobs well, but with a great sense of humor.
