Expect long hours, low pay and no support from upper management.

I've been out of work for 2 years. I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and have gone on countless interview without any success. It really takes a toll on my confidence. The only companies wanting to hire me are pyramid sales schemes.
Does anyone have any advice on how to break through with an actual company and not these sales jokes? I dress professional, I'm polite and professional, I usually have 4-6 questions to ask, I prepare for the questions that I think will be asked, I'm always punctual, I have manager, project management, training, customer service(call center and retail)
I'm desperate for the sake of my family. Please help.

So I have 20 years experience as a retail store manager and cant get a job. Not too bad I am currently employed but I work mandatory 6 days and don't even get sick days. The worst part is I drive an you each way and blow a good portion of my salary on gas. I am desperately seeking a new company, have a great resume, and an excellent track record. I really hate that I am alone in the store most of the time and don't feel sad hearing how stores around me are being robbed. Never have i worked for a retailer that thinks its ok to be alone in the building. Also I never get to manage because I am alone. Feel like a stocker not a manager. Anyone looking for a hard working dedicated manager that would like 2 days a week off please let me know..........

I have had a goal to manage my own store and i accomplished it . I had left that job for a "better oppertunity" and that person i went to work for gave it to someone else and i have not been able to find a job looking for an actual General Manager. I'm also pregnant right now and don't even know if anyone would hire me as a General Manager considering. This is my first child and if i can find something that i can make a career out of i would love that. I live in Holstein and were going to be moving to Hastings are within this next year.

It is an amazing company to work with. Very rich in experience and would recommend for anybody who would want to work there

Always I d no matter how old they look I’d id it is not worth being lied to and being out of. Job even if the company says look under thirty

Taken what a customers says how old they are when they are. Not ( when working with this company they say if people look under 30 I d ) well this man did not look under thirty but turned out he was under 21 I lost my job been there for 10 years

Hi, currently working as a assistant store manager from last 6 years and now looking for a change with better prospective.

I'm looking for store keeper job I have experience with 3 years in Store keeper in UAE and 6 years sales experience in India

So, here I am. Lost my job in May and now it is August. I was performing geotechnical engineering type work (I'm a geologist) but that industry has collapsed. One portion of the industry changed dramatically with the passage of new state statutes. I saw that coming because attorneys were having a field day and raping insurance companies every chance they had. the geotechnical design portion of the industry has seen no new construction occurring. Remodel of an existing structure is in full swing but not new construction of any infrastructure or commercial buildings. So I am seriously considering jumping the geotechnical ship (never cared for it, anyway) ad getting into construction. not hammer swinging but Field Superintendent or Project Management for a start. I have 22 years of Project Management but it is a much smaller scale and complexity than construction. In addition, my life s acclimated to the income I previously was earning (new house and car payments, for instance).
Long story short, I am trying to make the switch to the construction industry but I have no contacts or experience. The old adage of "you can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job" applies. How can I fluff up my small scale project management to make it attractive to construction firms? I can provide my resume to anyone who wants to see it. In addition, relocation is out of the question. I know I won't be earning what I was and I know what I need to earn to keep me afloat. Any advice?
