And now the company won't call me again. Because. Of her and she's. Planning me.the agency is Staffmark.manger name is janth .i got along very well with weber manger and he said its not the first time she has done this.mad as hell hopefully trump will send her ass back..

I am relocating however I noticed that the pay is a lot lower than in the area I am in now. I am not sure how to go about asking for higher pay without getting disqualified. Is it better to go through a temp agency?

Something happened to me yesterday. I had an accident on the way to a temp job that I had just started. Never made it there. I couldn't recall where I was at or where the job was. My woman said I was close to it, but she didn't know the place. Of course I was way out of town. The scariest feeling ever! So today, I started doing research to find the temp agency I went through. A few calls here and there. Finally, called the only place I could get a hold of. What do you think happened? Answering machine...LOL! Their website say open Thanksgiving 8am - 5pm. Yet, no one has called me back. It's been 30 minutes and counting....

I found myself in Denver, CO. I got a call that said come to San Diego, I've got a god job for you. That was Friday. Two days and 1,200 miles later I'm in San Diego. I meet with the representative whom I spoke with, and who can believe it, but the job was given to someone at the end of the day on Friday, and we have to meet with all future candidates before they are eligible anyway. But I'm sure we can find you a job soon.

Now we all know there was one job, but because I was in the middle of Downtown Denver when the call was made and I couldn't talk immediately, so the person kept going through applications. This should bother both jobseekers and companies. I got the call, so rationally I'm the best candidate. I didn't get the job and the company didn't get the best recruit. Shame, shame …

I was working at a Temp Agency, they had placed me at a Hospital. They had me shadow people for a while and they had taken on other hospitals in the area to do their billing. So they were outgrowing the office, so I was working there I never had a desk I had to hope someone called out sick or go on vacation to get a desk.

So they had all these computer software programs to learn like 4 different one to do different things. I went to the manager and told her I was getting a little overwhelmed trying to remember what program does what. So she agreed to put me on one system and learn that, then we could move on to another one. I agreed.

I pretty much kept to my self, I just listen to all the gossip and dram around me. So after a coulple of months I got more comfortable with other employees and tried to be more friendly and evening going to lunch with them

So I ended up finishing the project they had me working on and worked started to slow down. So then they Manager calls me in and tell me that since I was overwhelmed with the software that she didn't think I would qualify for a job there, but she had opening coming open in about three months that I could apply to and felt I would be a good fit.
So with that said one of the employees that I had been going to lunch with stopped me and asked Why didn't they hire me.
All I simply said was since I told the manager that I was overwhelmed with the software she ran with it. Well, that employee when back to the Manager and twisted my words up.
Next thing I know the agency called me to say that I was spreading rumors about the Manager!! So the company told me I could not come back and the agency was just as surprised as me. I never felt so betrayed and hurt over this.
I didn't understand why she did that to me - what did she have to gain - she had a job.

Turned 55 years old today but not sure I’ll be around to see 56. Lost my job in 2014 to the far East workforce when the suits at the company I faithfully worked at for 25 years decided they can manufacture more parts at less cost over there. Divorced in 2015 and all my kids are grown and gone. Temps jobs I’m able to find don’t last more than a few days at a time. My life savings are almost all gone and I can’t find anyone willing to give me a chance to prove I can still work. So, where do I go from here? How will I survive when my savings finally runs out? Like I said… not too sure about 56.

I relocated to the Houston area a few months ago. I've spent the last 2 months submitting my resume daily. Coming from the Washington DC area and working as an Exec Assistant for the last eight years I thought it wouldn't be this hard finding employment. I've applied with several placement agencies and two agencies sent me on an interview. I'm not sure if I'm not qualified or over qualified or I live in an area where the traffic is horrific, etc. Both agencies didn't hear back from either company. I sat in with four to five people in each session. I thought one went very well the other not so much. In the last 15 years I've only had three jobs which I thought would be a good thing. However, something will come my way soon. In the meantime I plan on hitting another placement agency on Monday. Any tips or suggestions I would greatly appreciate :)
