In general it’s a great school district. They may not be willing to work with any crisis you might be dealing with, may not back up their employees, but the co-workers are great, the students inspiring. I was proud to work there and I looked forward to waking up and doing my job. So if you can keep all these things in perspective, it’s a great deal of fun.

Trusting in my supervisor and superintendent to know why I had to make the decision I did and thinking years of working there would matter.

The most stressful day is when school starts back up. Your learning new students, who they are and where they go. It can range from 20 students to 40 depending on the route and how many more phone calls parents make to add more students. Plus the students you had the previous year.

As Bus drivers we have several policies and laws to follow. Most of the time they work together, there are rare accusations they don’t. In this case I had laws and policies that conflicted with the situation. I chose to follow state laws and had to compromise a school policy. It didn’t work out, and I was fired over the situation. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything I could have done right in the situation and instead of working to figure out how to fix the problem so it couldn’t happen again, they chose to do the easiest and fire me.

I loved working with the different students, teachers and coaches. I had awesome co-workers. Listening to the different perspectives the students came up with was always interesting and fun
