After an interview for a Kroger Starbuck that went very well (guaranteed job), I am struggling with anxiety and trust issues from my last job (AAFES Starbucks) and its toxic environment that seems to have affected me emotionally and physically. How do you feel comfortable working with people after being in an extremely toxic workplace and untrustworthy coworkers? #interview #newjob #toxicworkplace

well there toxic jobs out there. you have to not go in a new job with past feeling of abuse. you could see a therapist to give you pointers, friends, family around you also help to build confidence again. self esteem really dose get affected with lock down and covid there is a feeling of isolation that still carries on after the gates are open.

You just have to work hard and keep going. You'll be appreciated for your efforts somewhere and I don't think it would hurt to let a coworker you trust know. Toxic work environments do ruin our perception of work sometimes but once you find a good place free from that, it'll be like having a work family. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I've had one toxic work environment in the past and it's so manipulative and scary.

So I am going to.quit my job tomorrow before I get fired. I have made a few mistakes such as billing customers without correct paperwork for rentals and now they are not going to pay. I am currently seeing a therapist for low self esteem and conflict avoidance. Problem is my boss of 20 years scares me to death. Talking to him is always hard thus the conflict avoidance problem. I am already a applying for other jobs and have many contacts that will be able to help me but jyst need some advice on how to quit. His track record has always been once you quit no two weeks get out now which I am ok with. Just need help on the initial need to talk to.you. Drafted email but that seems cowardly. What do you think?please don't tell me to stay there it's not worth what it is doing to me mentally. My adult children have noticed the difference and I want to be the person I used to be. Can't take the stress. Need a job where when you leave it's over until the next day and don't have to bring it home with you.
