Stay working in one department too long, you learn much more by being more flexible.

There were so many wonderful stories, I found money on the parking garage floor going into work. Only to find out that one of my patients was dying, so I gave the money to family for funeral flowers. Sorry, I had so many stories.

I do well in multitasking, but I like to provide 100% of myself to patients and coworkers, and not able to do that was stressful.

I am remember when I was first hired there was a two day orientation, about benefits etc. I thought I was not going need the information because I did not think I was going to work there that long. But I did and ended up with a NYS pension and Health insurance. That is worth working for, no other private institution will give such a benefit package.

When comparing a private hospital to Upstate Medical, because of the number of employees contributing to the team, for patient safety. The learning experience you receive working at different hospital departments. Making friends (coworkers) through out the hospital.
