Manager at United States Postal Service

Go to USPS.com set up your account and search for all jobs listed in your area. Once that is done make sure you check your email daily and your spam folder so you don't miss an email and the opportunity for the job. Then you have to be patient while they do the background check.

Pse Clerk at The United States Postal Service

Patience. It's a long process. You have to keep checking your email because everything is time dated. You have to do urinalysis, fill out paperwork for a long background check, and if given a conditional job offer fingerprinting and at that point it will usually be done at your orientation. You can't have any gaps in employment. I also have been told by people they were called as references. Goodluck. It's a good job with total job security.

I really hated working for USPS because management are only concerned about what things look like... You know this really is not worth my time. Working for the Post Office sucks and that is all I have to say about that.

Maintenance at Usps

Make sure you join the union for your craft, every day ask "how am I doing" since they more than likely won't give you your 30-60-90 day evaluation this will help you if they try to fire you, they are required to inform you of any deficiency so you can improve if they fail to do there job the union should be able to protect yours, the other comments are good advise as well

I retired from the USPS in 2019, after 38 years working there. USPS hires anyone from high school, anyone who wants to work there. It is true that the USPS freeze hiring but will hire for seasonal period. There have been those who stayed in the USPS after the seasonal period, when they have openings. USPS do require prospects to take the test but there is waiting period of two years before one can be hired..
