They are one of the most professional department stores in America. Employees are trained and expected to give incredible customer service.

Probably when we are short staffed and workers are tired. We need to encourage each other.

I was able to calm her down by showing her complete concern with her situation, taking her to a quiet area, calmly explaining her options and asking her if she thought this was fair or how we could make things right. Gently & respectfully explaining store policies.

I loved the variety in customer service: receiving credit payments, helping customers with problems, shipping and tracking purchases, assisting with new employee training.

I would like first to thank Von Maur for giving me the opportunity to be apart of their family. Indeed, working there was an interesting experience for me. I loved dealing with customers and co-workers. An advice that I would like to give to the CEO is to pay a close attention to their talented employees. There are many employees with very high level of education such as masters degrees who are simple sales associates and are really excelling in their job (always reach their target sales, they always go far and beyond the targeted credit) but unfortunately, they are never given a chance to advance, which forced them to look somewhere else where career development is taken seriously and competencies are valued. To avoid high turnover rate, please take care of your good elements; they are an asset for the company. One more thing, you really need to revise the dress code policy (forcing women to wear skirts and dresses is not a good idea). I would rather see a uniform (one color for all employees) and give women the choice between Pants and skirts. It will look more professional and women will feel free to choose. Thank you Hafida
