Trying to leave little Ceasars because it’s physically and emotionally draining, They force me to work 6-10 hour shifts without sitting down and even though I’m about to be homeless and etc all they care about is if I’m coming to work 🙄 Y’all got me working all day everyday and wonder why I always say I’m tired like my body is always hurting I have insomnia I barely eat now I cry in the bathroom because I’m soon to be homeless and all they care about is me being in my phone and if I’m showing up to work. They don’t appreciate nothing I do, They leave me in there exactly at closing time to clean by myself every single day like I don’t know if this is my karma for the past but I’m ready to quit because I’ve been lied to about getting general manager I stayed when like 15 left and we literally had like 3 people left but whatever they don’t care as long as I come to work #Worklifebalance #Mentallydraining #jobburnout

We've all been there.

We made a promise to a client or boss that a deliverable would go out at a certain time, but life happened and now it's past end of day and you're still not done.

What do you do?

If you would've asked me a few years ago, I would've said to put your nose to the grindstone and pull out all the stops you need to in order to get it over the line. And for some pieces of work this may be necessary.

However, one of the most valuable lessons I've learned is that if it can wait until 8 PM, it can wait until 8 AM. What this means is you're better off taking that time to recharge and attack the task the next morning, then burn yourself out delivering something that likely won't be looked at until lunchtime anyways.

If you live in a SuperTuesday state (Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Democrats Abroad, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia) don't forget to take time to vote! I'm feeling grateful that I was able to take care of my vote this morning and my boss was great about allowing me to come in a little bit later than usual. #officelife #worklifebalance #motivation

Gotta be hard navigating work life when you are also navigating the ‘sandwich’ pressures... https://apple.news/A11gtqUPyQdyj9gDFTOLVqw

I ride a bike to work, because my choice are 12 minutes by bike, 20 minutes my car, or 40-50 minutes by transit. I was just reading thi s local paper article on how in some areas, scooters increasing number of jobs within reasonable commute times for people in cities. https://charlestownbridge.com/2020/01/23/e-scooters-could-unlock-hundreds-of-thousands-of-jobs-for-boston-neighborhoods/amp/

Work life balance is a phrase that feels overused. The truth is that this is different for everyone. Remote work has allowed me to be an engaged parent and efficient worker.

I recently left my job at a small college that I was at for 8 1/2 years for a major university. I've only been here a little over a month, since October 14. Recently I've been feeling " homesick" I guess you can say for my old job. I think I feel this way for several reasons: 12 hour days now and having to travel, compared to 8 hours and being close to home. I have kids (12 & 4) . Has anyone ever felt like this? I've had a few friends that left our old job and said the grass isn't always greener on the other side and I feel like I'm starting to feel that way. The job is also completely different. :-/

Thought provoking article. If you are an office worker past present or future, worth the read. Curious about reactions.... https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/17/style/generation-z-millennials-work-life-balance.html
