I had worked at this same dealership under 5 different owners for 42 years, 3 months into my 43rd. I was the shop foreman, and the only one who had all the certifications for the dealership to get paid on warranty claims. I never had so much as one disiplenary action or warning in my life. New management came in, and told me they didn't care if I was there 43 years or 43 minutes. 6 weeks later, they trumped up false charges against me and threw me out. For a place I dedicated my life to , and a regime that had their own agenda when coming in, is sickening. I'm 61 with knee replacement failure, and the other one bone on bone. THAT'S why they fired me. Shame on me for being so dedicated, it means nothing. I'm devastated, and empty inside.

Hey all..
So, I was let go from a job in August, a very questionable termination from a legal standpoint (I was injured in a car accident and couldn't go into work because of it, they did a complete 180° - at first they said don't worry about, rest and heal and get better, and then days later it was, "you missed too much work").
Since then, I've been working part-time as a background extra and while I really enjoy this, I need something full-time with a steady income.
I have a master's degree in education and have worked in my field (curriculum development) for about 5 years. Yet, I've been applying for jobs left and right, interviewed for quite a few, but cannot seem to land anything.
I'm a very hard worker and I'm good at what I do, I'm just worried that either my interview skills (I'm a shy person) or my being let go from my last job is getting in the way.
It's hard not to get discouraged here. I need some advice on finding the right job, soon.
Thank you.

I would like to know if I was victim of wrongful termination. While it was November, 2011 I had shown up to work after a day before I had called in, and I showed up to work ( I lived in Avenal, Ca, and worked in San Ardo, Ca over 50 miles apart.). I had car pulled with a co-worker and as I was in our work Truck my manager had told me I was replaced for the day and that he had "No" today, and I had asked him "if there was anywhere I can fill I'm today because I had car pulled, and I had no way other to my house. " . So I had to walk 50 miles home with no sevice do to the area. Can Anyone tell me if I can do anything about it or if it's to late.

I was called in to work for a company called Second Image in San Dimas California i was there from Monday to Monday with no training. All you had to do was call from their already made call list and ask if they want to buy a copy of court cases . There is really no typing required only to say, No answer or client would like a copy. Basically what ever happen on the phone is what you type into your notes therefore why they require a typing test no one knows. The supervisor kept telling me we will get you started on this day well that day would never arrive so she would say it again. Realizing she was guessing at what her job was, we actually had one day, one hour together to learn the different screens we needed to use in actually we only needed three screens on the computer and you could split those into one, to my dismay the Supervisor needed training for that. Also the title of my job was Account Specialist/Paralegal when it should have been called Phone Sales it was as though no job existed so imagine my surprised when they told me they had to let me go the following Monday on a job as easy as this. This felt like I was being punked this doesn’t go on my resume this made the supervisor and the company look as though they are slow and simple. Good riddence I say. Maybe if my boobs had been a double d cup and my cleavage was spilled all out everywhere I could have kept my job. The worst experience of any job I’ve ever had. I did get free money of 649.00 for sitting there and twirling my thumbs waiting to be trained.

I was a dedicated manager to the point where I would not only closed but also open if the opening managers team members would not show up. I was was terminated from my position I feel falsely accused. The district manager would not show me proof she stated she did not have to show me proof but was firing me for stealing. Even though I've never stole anything, because that would be a dumb Criminal move, especially knowing that both registers and also the safe are on camera and is being recorded at all times.

I was working for 15 years for a school district and a short story I was set up and fired. The funny thing is they fired me for being unprofessional and gave me a 3 moth insurance package and paid leave for 3 weeks. I was set up by a secretary saying she had a knot in her neck and if I can massage it out which I made a mistake of doing. It was harmless and did it for 2 min. I get called in she said I went up to her with notice and rubbed her neck for 6 min and I had 4 witnesses bit her friend lied and said all she saw was me massaging her back. The other 2 witnesses said she asked me to. So I told HR is this sexual harassment they said no unprofessional at work. I was set up by the principal and I lost my job.

I man during lunch break st SAF Holland in Dumas AR said I pulled a gun on him after he got back from lunch I immediately went to HR and reported what happened and Left because I had taken the afternoon off it was a Friday, I showed up Saturday morning for work and was meet in the parking lot and escorted in the office with police presence and fired based on the other mans statement with out even hearing my side of the story and was fired for allegedly pulling a gun on this man in the parking lot but no one seen anything because nothing happened except the man said he was going to bitch slap me when I asked for my witness they denied him and his statement and slander my name and there for blocked my uneloyment by the statement of the man who started the incident

Aloha from the state of Hawaii here,
So I have been working in this company for almost 3 years now, the first 2 and half year I was really working hard, I cover shifts, do overtime, don't come late and I seldom call off when emergency only, until 1 day I decided to be lazy because the management having a favoritsm issue. Just imagine my lazy co workers whom I cover for when they call of, come late and cover for their lazy ass working because I'm a good friend and I dont throw anyone under the bus, they always do get the employee of the month, well "employee of the month" is not the issue here but the fact that the lazy ones are getting recognized but me I felt like I'm no one in my company. Well I make and maintain good relationships with my fellow workers, I don't have problem with them it's just the management. It's kinda insulting knowing that there's this new employee gets employee of the month, but me as a loyal worker to the company I get nothing so yeah I decided to be lazy I show them I'm using cellphone which is prohibited, didn't came into a mandatory meeting, sitting on chair, yeah these are the reasons why I got suspension till further notice and after 1 week they decided to just let me go because of those minor reasons. While these lazy employees arestill there working, they still call off a lot, they come late always they even make lots of mistakes but there they are still there... But in the other hand, they gave me a raise and good satisfactory in my 2 yearly evaluation. Yes they give me satisfying performance evaulation but I never got the employee of the month.... It really doesn't make sense. A lot of people quit because of these management, I just decided to stay hoping that they would change, but instead they power tripped me and hired a bunch of people.
Is this considered harrasment or favoritsm or discrimination? Should I file a complain?

I think I made 2 mistakes that led to my release at the end of the seasonal rush. One, on my second day on the job, I was reviewing codes for the various items in Men's, Children's, Infant, and Toys to be sure I was returning things to the correct place. I had taken notes on my iPhone with the Coordinator's knowledge the previous day. Well as I was looking for the location of the code for the item I had, I was approached by a Manager that I'd not previously met. She was eyeing me and my iPhone and I immediately wanted to assure her that I was using my phone as a training aid. She asked if I liked the job so far and I said I did, just that the numbers were tricky to remember. Then the 20-something twit (I'm a 40-something twit lol) asked me if this was my FIRST JOB with so much condescension in her voice, I had to clean it up later. I pulled myself to my full height of five feet and zero inches, looked her in the eye, and smiled sweetly as I said, "Oh no, honey! In my last job, I was principal of an elementary school!" I promise I held in all the snarky comments that came immediately to mind! She looked at me dumbly for a good 10 seconds before remembering how to speak again. So even though I can't articulate what exactly my mistake was, I know that I made a mistake in that brief encounter. My second big mistake was showing up over an hour late to work inventory. Everyone was scheduled to work at 3:30 am on January 7. So I set my alarm to get ready in time to arrive on time and I woke when the alarm sounded. Then I fell right back asleep and I hadn't even snoozed the alarm, so I didn't wake again until an hour later. I dressed and got there as fast as I could and when I arrived, the doors were locked. I had to wait for a manager to unlock the door for me and guess who it was....? Yes the same 20-something twit I'd had my little encounter with on my 2nd day. I apologized for being late and quickly got to work with 2 of the existing teams. A little more than an hour after I'd arrived, she asked to talk with me in the office and I knew that was bad news. She sat me down and said that my part-time seasonal employment was now over and that I would receive my last pay later that day when they had the cash available. I asked her why she didn't simply turn me away at the door so that I could just go back home instead of wasting both our time by having me work for an hour or so. She said because there were certain procedures that had to be followed. Translation: I had to get permission to fire you on the spot before I actually did it. So I know I shouldn't have been late, but I wasn't surprised at all at how my employment ended.

I have a friend that was working at a warehouse for years on off & off. Well this last time he was working there he was wrongfully accused of breaking into cars and they showed the recording and it wasn't him . yet they still fired him . by saying he will be given leave til further investigation . then they never answered any of his phone calls. Just basically fired him . what can he do . he doesn't have a record nor was it him . so he has been having problems finding work . He really has stopped believing in the system. Help please show him there is justice
