Only Rhode Islanders will get this ; )
I grew up in RI and I have total pride in my state, but the "You know you're from RI when..." ALWAYS make me laugh because they are so TRUE!
So for today's you know you're from RI...
You give people directions to a location based on places that USED to be there.
It doesn't matter if the building or location has been gone for 30 plus years, you will still use it as a landmark!
Anyone else give directions like this???
I still do!
Stay tuned for more ; )

Does anyone else feel that we just jumped right into fall?! I’ve lived in New England my whole life and it’s STILL a shock when the days grow shorter and I need to put on my coat to go outside.
My dad however always says, “If you don’t like the weather in RI...just wait five minutes.” 😆
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Good morning, Rhode Islanders!
Just wanted to give a Monday morning shout-out – my name is Jeanette and I’ve been with Jobcase for almost seven years. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about the different journeys people take in their work-life.
One of the most important things I’ve learned is that it’s hard to find work if your basic needs aren’t being met. For that reason, I want to make sure you know about the resources available to help you stay on your feet while you look for that next work opportunity. This link takes you to Jobcase’ Rhode Island unemployment resource page: https://www.jobcase.com/ru/unemployment-benefits-rhode-island. If you’re in a position right now where you need this type of help, it’s a good place to start.
It’s not the only resource, though. As part of this group, you can ask our Jobcase Community Experts and other Rhode Islanders what resources they know of or have used, now or in the past. It might be advice and encouragement if you’re having trouble navigating the unemployment claim process. It might be the hours and location of a local food bank. It might be how to contact your state representative: http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/representatives/default.aspx
In short, help yourself by helping yourself – portraying your confidence, skills, reliability, and professionalism to your next employer is easier when you and your family’s basic needs are taken care of. This Jobcase family is not just here to help you find that next job. We’re here to provide a platform where you can learn from the knowledge, successes, and even tribulations of others just like you. You got this! #wordsofadvice #motivation #backtoworkri
