Institute for Labor Studies and Research is recruiting participants for a Teacher Assistant Certification Program. The next class begins January 19, 2021 and runs through February 11, 2021. Classes will also be offered in February, March and April, 2021.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and pass the Casas Goals test reading score of 228 and math score of 215. English language learners are encouraged to apply.

Dorcas International is offering a FREE 4-week training program to residents interested in becoming a Direct Support Professional.
Participants will learn how to provide services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Successful graduates of the program will be able to access a career in healthcare as a Direct Support Specialist. Dorcas will help graduates find a job earning $14-$15 an hour.
The next training cohort will begin on January 6, 2021, and end on February, 3, 2021. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm.

Rhode Island Food Policy Council and the University of Rhode Island are offering a virtual training about COVID safety and sanitation. This training will arm participants who are searching for a successful career in the food industry with the knowledge to keep themselves, colleagues, and consumers safe in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
The training will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Real Jobs RI, Polaris MEP and the Manufacturing Growth Collaborative have partnered with RI Manufacturers and CCRI to offer a multi-phase Fast Track to CNC Manufacturing. training program.
This program will prepare you for a career in manufacturing as a manual or CNC Operator or Machinist. Participants in this program will learn blueprint reading, how to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) language and accurately and precisely measure manufactured parts and assemblies using micrometers, digital calipers and dial indicators, safely operate highpowered CNC, and much more.
The program will be held at the CCRI Providence and Warwick campuses and virtually and the dates are as follows: **Phase 1:**Mondays to Fridays – January 19, 2012 to April 20, 2021; Phase 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays – May 17, 2020 to August 27, 2021
Upon successful completion of both phases, students will earn up to 16 college credits and an Introduction to CNC Manufacturing Concentration Certificate.
