I've been a teacher for about 20 years and have recently earned a Master's in secondary education with a focus on biological science. However, I'm burnt out. I want to pursue a career that will put my knowledge and skills to use, but I am afraid of having to start my retirement plan over again. I am 50 years old (with a loving family) and I feel the crunch of monetary end of life. So, I am curious to know opinions and or options of changing my career. #jobsearch #careerchange #advice #education

I've been applying to many jobs in the fashion / beauty/ industry most of them entry level... I have 12 years of experience in sales (been sales director) my experience in fashion is little but willing to start from scratch... Anyways any tips on how to get at least an interview... I'm experienced and while I lack the industry experience I'm a fast learner but no one gives me a break not even an interview it's been 4 months #interview #careerchange #advice

Focus on your daily tasks and improve on them. Network with co-workers, supervisors, and most importantly, the customers. The customers who find you informative and friendly will comment on how candid you are which will be brought to the manager's attention.

I'm Funny from Philippines. I am a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills. I work efficiently both as an individual contributor as well as along with a team. I seek new challenges and try to think out of the box while looking for creative solutions to give problem. Besides the details given in my resume, I believe in character, values, vision, and action. I am a quick learner and believe in learning from my mistakes for I strongly feel that this virtue will take me ahead in life and career.

As for finding a new career, you can take the teaching experience then use it for training in whatever specific career you desire entering into. How that can be done is by writing up that new resume to focus on the area you want to train in.

I understand what you mean but there is more than 1 specific career I am looking into & my current CV is on every single job site online & there’s MANY different jobs that consider me “overqualified” b/c I have a Masters degree & places don’t want to pay what someone with a Masters would deserve. I’m thinking about taking my degree OFF!

I have been actively searching for a new position. Not that I do not love what do, but the nightclub industry is easier when you’re young. I have ran a very successful nightclub for 10+ years and have loads of experience. BUT……I ca not find a job. Where are the jobs in the Dallas area?! #careerchange #advice
