Your resume should be well-balanced. It should have enough detail to impress a hiring manager without feeling cluttered and confusing.

In general, 10 to 15 years of work history should be the max. If you’ve been at the same job for over a decade, don’t list old jobs just to fill up space.

Are you wondering how many jobs you should put on your resume, or how many pages it should be, or what to do with a gap in your work history? Find out here.

Start working on your resume now so it’s ready for the #chijobfair22. And be sure to register for the job fair now before it fills up!

That’s a mind-blowing statistic. 85% of job seekers are hired because they know someone at the company. Often, these relationships begin at networking events and online communities.

That’s why events like the 2022 Citywide Job Fair presented by the Chicago Urban League are an amazing opportunity. #chijobfair22

When hiring, employers have the incredibly tough task of picking one person from hundreds of applicants. Choosing somebody they know and have interacted with before is an easier decision than selecting someone they’ve never met or only met through a brief interview.

You don’t have to wait for the job fair to build your network. Start now right here on Jobcase by sending and accepting connect requests with people you want in your network. Simply go to a Jobcaser’s profile and press “Connect” to send a request. And here are some tips about how to network with people you don’t know.

The 2022 Citywide Job Fair presented by the Chicago Urban League is only a few weeks away. So now is a good time to prepare your resume.

Here are three ways to create or update your resume.

  1. Customize your resume for every job application
Customizing your resume will help you stand apart from the competition and employers will certainly appreciate and notice the effort! Also you should update each resume for the job you want so that you can get past Applicant Tracking systems. But that won’t be a problem at the Citywide Job Fair where you’ll meet employers in person.

  2. Emphasize your accomplishments that are relevant
Highlight the experience and skills you have that are related to the specific job you are applying for. Provide tangible examples of projects and successes you’ve had in the past. Get more ideas here.

  3. Get started with your resume right here on Jobcase
Did you know you can automatically download a digital version of your resume(s) by filling out your Jobcase profile? Discover how to quickly autogenerate a resume on your Jobcase Profile.

But before you work on creating or updating your resume, be sure to register for the Citywide Job Fair here. It’ll only take one minute. #ChiJobFair22
