Do it. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it.

Not changing the gas prices when I was supposed to. Not closing the end of day paperwork on the safe when I was an assistant manager.

Honestly, if you're looking to be treated poorly and as if your family doesn't matter or as if your health is unimportant then look no further than Walmart. The rate of pay isn't terrible, but if you are part time less than 3 years you earn zero paid time off. They're not moving people into full time position at all, they'll schedule full-time hours each week until you hit the threshold of forcibly being made full time by company policy(9weeks at 34 hours per week) and then drop you down to 16-33). They do not care about their employees or their employees livelihoods what so ever. Management has "favorites" that get away with everything, and those said "favorites" are not held accountable for their absences, they're virtually erased while other employees who come in and work hard and miss a day are forced to keep their absences on record. There's so much more I could go on about. If I hadn't needed a better paying job and I could go back and do it over again, I don't honestly believe I would have ever stared working at Walmart.

My experience working at Walmart was not that great. I was treated like I didn't exist because I was quiet and focused on my job rather than chat with coworkers. I was going to college at the time and no one respected my requests to accommodate my needs. The last straw was when I sat down to take my break, a manager from another department came in and told me I had to get back to work, there were 2 issues I had with that: 1) I never saw him before (he was Grocery, I was Front End), and 2) I have to take breaks at certain times because I am diabetic so I need to check myself at certain times. I quit that day and now I am disliked at that store. I live in a small city/town, 12k population, in NE Ohio and we have very few shopping options. It has also made it difficult for me to find another job in my area.

I would suggest to look at other places first, Macy’s pay scale is terrible. You will work hard and the pay will be small. You can learn a lot about clothing, any department you want but do not make a career out of it.
