I have been in the accounting field for over 20 years. I have never had to use VLookup or Pivot Tables but all of the good paying jobs are requiring those skills and I would honestly love to learn them. I currently have experience in AP, AR, Billing, Auditing, Project Accounting and more. I also have used many different business accounting software applications and have worked in different industries. I have always had to learn a new system based off of the industry and the company's needs after I was hired. Aren't companies doing any type of in house training anymore? How can someone completely know and understand a company's needs without a little guidance? I need to know if there are any companies in the Dallas/Plano area that still train, promote growth and invest in their people... Thank you!

Does anyone have any relocation tips for moving from Atlanta to Dallas? I have a client that asked me and I thought maybe you guys could give her some pointers. I already gave her some but besides a change in culture what else would she need to know. Thank you!

Be very careful, watch what you say and do. I worked very hard for this company for over 4 years, in the end was treated very poorly. There has been many changes in the industry over the years and they are behind the times for a technology company, also a new VP of operations came in and started letting people go left and right with no cares that they (including myself) had families to take care of. I still have lots of friends that work there that I know are all miserable and several of whom are looking for new jobs. So my advice would be if you are interviewing there or a possible candidate to be hired, watch your back because it is not the greatest or safest work environment like it used to be.

I have missed the architectural and design world for too long. I'm going to see if someone in this industry values experience and know-how. Oh, and I forgot, good looks and charm. I am in the DFW area of Texas.
