Hey Jobcase family – We know you all appreciate companies that treat workers right. So here’s a good one – Delta Air Lines! They’ve been showing their employees a lot of love lately.

Delta just shared $1.6 billion of profit with the folks who work for them. That’s a record high, and it means about TWO MONTHS of pay for the average person. It’s also the HIGHEST rate paid out amongst the 4 largest US airlines. That’s some serious love!

So, we have a couple suggestions for you:

FLY Delta. If you’re flying anytime soon, FLY Delta. Let’s spend our money with companies that know where their bread is buttered. It’s workers that make them successful, and Delta knows that. We can reward good employers by helping them HIRE and GET MORE SALES. When we do that together, other companies will have to treat their workers better!

APPLY for a Delta job. If you or someone you love is looking for work, check them out. We’re featuring Delta’s jobs on Jobcase (BTW, they did not pay us for this). We like how they treat their workers, so we thought you should know about their openings.

So stay tuned Jobcasers – to hear about other “people-first” companies. And if you have a good example of a company doing right by their workers, LET US KNOW! Just post about it right here in the community using these hashtags: #peoplefirst or #supportworkers

I been working as a bag handler at Delta and people always ask me how I got this job. I didn't need any experience or nothing I just applied. Because you are working at the airport your background check is strict and you have to be able to lift heavy bags. Last week I lifted up one that I swear to GOD felt like it had 15 bowling balls in it. Travel light people!! Nah but the job is good, pays good and the company has been fine so far. No complaints.

Although it’s the shortest month of the year, February seems to draaaagggggg on. Anyone else agree?! So, why not take a break from your same old routine and change up the scenery a bit?

Maybe some family members are overdue for a visit, or there’s a corner of the world you’ve never seen. Regardless of your ambitions, #Delta makes it easy to travel anywhere you could dream of - even on a budget!

Here are three tips to finding affordable flights:

Use the right sites The first trick to finding affordable flights is to use the right websites. Google Flights, Skyscanner and Momondo are great resources to help you scan thousands of flights to ensure you’re getting the lowest price possible! You can decide which Delta fare is best for you, and you’ll be redirected to their site to book your flight.

Book at the right time It’s a misconception that booking flights as early as possible will save you the most money. [Delta agents suggest] that you should aim to purchase tickets 6 - 12 weeks before your anticipated departure date. This avoids last-minute pricing spikes but is close enough that tickets start to reflect discount costs.

Know the cheapest days to fly Friday’s are the most popular day to fly and therefore, are the most expensive day for tickets. Try booking a flight that leaves on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for the best rates. Also, if you’re willing to leave super early or take on a redeye flight, you’ll save a few bucks!

Any other tips for affordable flying?! Comment below! :)

Bon Voyage!

My 7 year old niece asked me the other day where I live. She said do you live THERE and pointed straight up. She thinks this because I am a flight attendant. I have worked for Delta for the last three years and I am in the sky more than I am on the ground. Sometimes I really miss my family, but I love to travel and staying in one spot for too long has never been my thing. I hate feeling like I am stuck someplace. Anyone else like that too?

Landing an employment opportunity in the Travel industry is highly competitive but I think this is an excellent option for ambitious job seekers to get their foot in the door and show off their skills, strengths and talents to merit a permanent role within the (60 - 90) day seasonal employment window.

Does this sound like you?

The link I added below will take you directly to Delta's career page where you can carefully review all the job details, necessary qualifications and application instructions to get you on your way to one of these exciting opportunities.

Please not that Delta offers an easy mobile application process but they also use an application tracking system to rate and pre-qualify potential candidates. Please make sure you take time to customize and optimize your resume for better results if you choose to apply.

Reach back out to this community if you're unsure how to do this. Thanks & Good Luck!

Since I was a small child to this very day, I have always wanted to be a pilot.. Have been lucky enough to have used a simulator a couple of times.. I'm at a point in my life where a career change is constantly on my mind. I've already looked into the pilot training programs and it's just way to expensive for me to pay for out of my own pocket. My question is,,, Does Delta or any other company have their own training program to bring in someone like myself and how might a person get in touch with them???
