Epic Analyst I at Salem Hospital

Nurses gain some clinical experience during their education. They then sit for their licensing exam and once they pass this exam (their "boards"), they are considered a registered nurse. Most RNs will find a job accepting new graduate nurses. Some organizations offer programs specifically designed for new grad RNs. First step, get into nursing school. Experience will come.

Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital Medical Center

Depend on your clinical experience and an open mind. Each hospital has their own procedures and policies. Be willing to listen and perhaps adapt to theirs.

I don't think you need any experience. However you do you have prior experience so that is plus. You probably need a reliable transportation and maybe some references.

I applied to this job that looked great, as a customer service rep. I did really well in the interview and even got a call that I got the job. We talked compensation, benefits and even start date. I asked if they will send me an offer letter to sign, they said they would. This was all over the phone. It's been a week and nothing, radio silence from them. Training is starting next week and I don't know if I should even go at this point. Has this happened to anyone? What should I do from here? #advice

Sorry Honey, I don't have sales experience, and that's what you have to look at for help at sales. I have been unemployed 14 weeks and the job was interesting to me, but to do you a good favor you need help to fill that position. Thanks for interest. Chas..

I was working for a company called challenger electric and was told upon being hired they would train me on the job now mind you I’m freshly graduated from A trade school for electrical technician and they worked me for four days the first day I ran a bunch of conduit the last 3 days the had me using a tool I’m not trained in and told me at the end of shift that they had to let me go because I’m too slow mind you my coworker was extremely rude and lied and said I wasn’t doing my job now I live in Arizona and it’s hot and we are working in the heat on top of the fact they have no safety scenarios in place

Medical Records Coordinator And Medical Office Assistant at Midwestern University Clinic

Knowing which computer system the organization uses will greatly help. You could then look up some tutorials online. It also helps if you've ever worked somewhere filing and categorizing, such as in another office or a library or bookstore. Don't forget your people skills, either, and always remember that it's individuals' records you'll be working with, so go big on details and accuracy. It means a lot to the patients, nurses and doctors to have correct information.

Carolyn: You usually have to have a 6-12 training degree at a technical college or actual experience earned at a job. You could volunteer somewhere to gain the experience. Then you have to type at least 50 wpm and know computers, data entry, etc.
