I have to comment about something. When someone comments about a posting I've written, whatever the case may be, I usually go to their profile to find out a little more about them. Well, I've noticed that very few people (that I've come across) seem to have an actual profile or resume on file here with Jobcase. I thought this was pretty odd since most people are here because they're looking for work. This is the perfect place to include a profile if you are looking for a job. I'm going to just say it straight. If I was an employer looking to hire and posted a job opening here that people were responding to, etc. I would most likely pass them over if there was nothing on their profile page. I just find this strange. I'm not looking for a job yet I have a rather comprehensive (yeah, it needs some editing now) profile. Here's the perfect opportunity for candidates to show what they've got! I do write profiles and bios but you can and should do it yourself here, because it's FREE! I guess I wouldn't take someone seriously if he or she applied for a job but didn't take the time to include a profile here on Jobcase....Am I being a brat? #jobsearch #hired #advice

I'm having such a hard time looking for work. Sometimes I really sit back and wonder if I'm doing something wrong with my job search. Was it the way I formatted my job resume or my work history? Are these jobs really hiring? Why so many job postings with super long wait time for a response back? I feel like throwing my degree in the trash sometimes. What's the point? And now funds are getting tight for me and I had to actually pawn a few of my valuables just so i can pay off some late bills. Our economy and job searching sucks. :( #jobsearch #advice #application

UPDATE: I guess it's just the timing of how long companies will reply back but I GOT HIRED! Found great permanent opprtunity near where I live that matches my experience. Thanks to everyone who tried helping me but I'm officially done with job searching. #hired

I was offered a job at a company and had been working there for about a month. Being only a month in, I was still in my training period. Then I received a voicemail from the same person who initially offered me a job with another job offer for the same position. Then the following week, I was let go (I wasn't given any specifics other than under performance which was never brought to my attention once by any of the floor managers). So it seems like the hiring manager didn't realize I had already been working at the company and, if I took the new job offer, I would essentially be replacing myself. So the question is, should I take up the new job offer as if I were a completely new candidate? If so, how should I go about doing so? #jobsearch #advice #termination #management #hired #followup #confusion #joboffer

So, i am a little confused myself, you were doing the job that they hired you for. Then they offered you the job that you already were doing. Then they let you go, and you are asking should you take the job that they are offering you for the same position? I do not know the details of what transpired, have you asked them about the new offer? Do you know that this is job is still on the table for you now? I would contact HR and see what they have to say, no harm no fowl and it will answer your question. Goodluck!!!

Once you've landed a job, the hard work isn't over. Adjusting to a new workplace can feel overwhelming, between meeting colleagues, learning about the company and getting into a routine in your role. But being a new hire doesn't have to be so stressful, writes Fast Company. To help set yourself up for success in the first month of a new position, here are four strategies:

• Learn your manager's expectations and establish how success will be measured.

• Establish good habits early, such as forming an organization system.

• Build relationships with your co-workers and create a positive reputation.

• Learn as much as you can about the company to ease your transition.

Take Time to Appreciate the New Beginning! #hired #Newjob
