This is probably going to sound more like a venting post but I promise it is not that. I have come so close to being hired by a couple of interpreting companies, interview goes great, language assessments, great, and once we get to the actual start date, I am ghosted by the hiring manager. I got an “As soon as I have an official start date, I will reach out and let you know.” And then nothing. I wish I had closure, because both times have seemed so promising. A simple text or email just letting me know it wasn’t going to work out or someone fit the job better. The fact I haven’t heard back keep me hopeful that maybe I’ll get an answer but the realist in me knows enough time has gone by and I need to continue my search. My family and I lost our home, due to the increase in rent everywhere. We are having to live separately at the moment and it’s been very difficult for us an our children. However, without a second income there is no way we are going to be able to afford to rent a place together again. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, have over 8 years experience in customer service. I’ve worked call centers, medical offices, pharmacies, etc. I consider myself to be a great asset to any company, I am friendly, a fast learner and really hopeful that someone might give me the opportunity to prove that. I am seeking a job from home as I have two kids and can not afford child care under my current situation. My resume is available upon request. Any pointers? Some guidance in the right direction? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
