Usually because it’s monotonous and there is never any appreciation for the hard work, unpaid overtime, holidays, and the sacrifices one makes to contribute for the greater good of the company. It’s a wonderful feeling to be told you’re doing a good job, if not what do you really mean to them? Performance bonuses also change an employee’s perspective as well, if they don’t step up someone who knows your true value will. Life is too short to not gain more knowledge, more experience, and a better way of life.

I started working for a company two days before New Year's. A few days prior to me starting work the manager of the location I work at called me personally, even though I applied at a different location and ask if I want to come and work for him add his location. He told me that the hourly wage was higher and I could make more money there. So I went in for an interview and got the job on the spot. Like I said my first day was two days before New Year's. After I started working there I started asking my manager about my paycheck stubs and how to access them online and what was the location code that I needed to access my paycheck stubs that I am now only available online. My manager told me multiple times that he would forward me the information which never happened. At one point he even asked me why do I need it. Not that it was any of his business but I need it them for proof of income to be able to rent a house. About 5 months go by and I still keep on asking the whole time, but still no information. And then one day my coworker hands me a piece of paper with the location number that I needed so I went online and set up an account and look over my paycheck stubs. And my jaw dropped! I found out that through that entire time and countless hours of overtime ( that I was promised when I was hired and now my boss is going back on fat as well but that's a different story) I was getting paid a lower wage hourly the one for the location that I applied for. My manager used his bosses code to get into that applications and pulled mine out of I don't know how many, and then they screwed up the paperwork saying that I was employed I'd occasion that I applied for not the one I work at. it was a Sunday when I realized that so I texted him and ask why that was the case with a snapshot of my paycheck stub and his answer was that he doesn't know he just puts in the payroll. Well I know for a fact that he does not put in the payroll, his assistants do. So I went to his boss and told her what was going on. well long story short now the company owes me roughly anywhere between $ 4,500 to $5,000, and they're trying to tell me that I should have realized this earlier without having access to my paycheck stubs and I didn't get a W-2 for the 2 days I worked and I didn't get a W-2 for the 2 days I worked before the new year. When I said something they raise my wage instantly. And back paid me for that entire pay period, and the one prior to that one. I know of other people have company that were not they correctly used and they got their back pay but because mine is so much they're fighting me. I tried to reach out every few days to my managers boss to find out what the progress is and I either don't get a response or I get a very big one that she will find out and get back to me. The last one was 2 days ago she told me she was having a meeting with her boss and she was going to ask. well I'm still waiting for a response from her, again. Everybody's in the company knows about it; from HR, to payroll,as well as the vice president, and director of operations. I'm trying to be nice about this because I actually really enjoy working there. But how in the world can a company take this long to pay somebody back when nobody is disputing what I am saying, my manager is not disputing or saying that I'm not saying the truth. Especially a company that spends over many different states and has well over hundred seventy locations or or something along that line. I just want what belongs to me and I don't want to fight about it. I just want them to do the right thing like they have done before with other employees and pay me back what belongs to me even if it has to be in installments over time a few pay periods. How do I get them to get back to me, how do I find out what's going on if nobody's telling me anything? Or do I have to start getting loud and obnoxious about it. if anybody's got any advice. I would love to hear it. Sorry about the post being so long.

I was working for a pest control company that had me as a sales person. We were working some 9,10,12 hour days 6 days a week. We were under an exemption that makes it so there's no overtime. For the first 3 months there is a flat base pay and after it's considered a draw against commission. That was explained to us when hired. No mention made at anytime about vacation or sock leave. Nothing in writing about them either. None of the salespeople prior to me or after knew anything about them, so when I had sock pay taken out of my check I was surprised. I had not asked for sick leave and to my knowledge there was none. I was told there was and it was assumed everyone knew. I told this man Kirby, (not an employee of the company) that according to the exemption they couldn't take my pay without a program in place. He tried to demean and belittle me via email which was cc'd to the managers and owners highlighting how my pay could be deducted. I responded that if he had noted the few lines above his then he's see the portion starting with "federally mandated " and there is the point proving no pay deducted. I got part of my pay back but was fired with in a week to two after that situation. I was told that I was suddenly "not a good fit for the company ". Prior to the episode, I was considered an asset to the company and well liked by all, especially one of the owners. My appointments (less than 30 days worth) were almost all ending in sales and most of them high. The man Kirby made it a special point (i asked him if he does it all the time and he said only special cases) to be at the office when I was fired so he could drive me back home after I left the company truck.. Is this considered harassment and termination retribution under the Whistleblower protection act? I reported something wrong and pointed out the legal process being used and was fired shortly after. I would like to know if I have a potential case against them.

Hello all! I work a job not making much at all! The issue is I decided to pick up some over night shifts to increase my check. Upon getting my check it wasn't right so I asked my supervisor abt it and I was told doing over night shifts I get paid a flat rate instead of my hourly rate and that I should've bn told this upon accepting the shifts! I wasn't told this at all... Is there anything I can do other than quiting? I mean I worked 60 hours. Supervisor said because it was simply a sleep over shift! Now if I had only slept, it wouldn't be a big deal but I was literally up ever two hours assisting and to me tht just doesn't seem fair at all. If I had been told that up front, I wouldn't have accepted the assignment to begin with!

I was always asked to work overtime even out of my department because they knew that I would take it and could handle the jobs.

I am supposed to be the supervisor of 2 group homes but they also have me doing same work as my subordinates. Double work because we are understaff, my employer classified me as an exempt employee. Now I am doing double the work and when I complain my employer reminds me that I am salaried and exempt employee. They also told me if I don't like the overload they can change me to hourly. I feel frustrated!!
