Overtime pay for truck drivers

Does your employer pay you overtime? 💰

My company pays their employees overtime after 40 hours. My last employer paid overtime after 8 hours, but it was union. I’m in Los Angeles, so trucking companies tend to pay overtime to attract drivers for long-term employment. 🚛

What are your thoughts on this matter because OTR drivers technically cannot receive overtime pay because they get paid per mile or by load? 🤔

Keep on trucking! 🚛 ⛽️

When working a job in Louisiana and being paid bi-weekly! Well one week I would work 60 hours on week I would work 25-26 hours and instead of giving me 20 hrs of overtime for that first week they Combine those two weeks and would only give 5-6 hrs of overtime is this against the law? And who do I contact for this? TIA GOD BLESS #overtime #overtimehours #advice

This pizza chain got busted not paying it's employees overtime.

My first job ever was at a frozen yogurt shop and the owner didn't pay me. I quit after just a couple of days but never saw a dime for the work I did.

Did you ever take a job and not get paid?

Luckily, I now have a job where I don't have to work on Thanksgiving 🦃, but I used to work holidays back in my cashier days. I did get OT though 💵!

Do you think our bosses should be allowed to mandate holiday work if they pay OT? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Target 🎯 is sending a more wholesome message closing stores on Thanksgiving for good which I like a lot!!

11-30 hours a week for 22 years. This included Saturdays and Sundays. Since I was management I did not get overtime. I worked for County Government as a Financial Services Manager. No appreciation for the work that I did so I retired at age 59.5. This is my 6th year of retirement and I am so glad that I left when I did.

b. I work at a pharmacy and with Covid, we have been run into the ground. It's like anyone in the medical field. Lots of people are leaving the field.

Hello Paul, If you do not like working OT, please apply for jobs that do not require OT. Ask the employer when you are being interviewed. Some job ad's decribes "NO" OT. Do side jobs for extra money that you like to make up your extra money.

It is both. Overtime when handled correctly can be a blessing. But people have gotten so used to overtime they take it for granted and then in walks upper management who removes OT and just like that bankruptcy cases ensue

Everyone's situation is different. Do you look for extra hours or hate it when you don't have a choice? #overtime
