I recently worked for a some what known company/ restaurant and I had been there 7 months prior to this incident. I had recently found out I was pregnant so I continued to work. Somethings came up to were I had to go to the ER & this is when I found out I wasn’t only pregnant I was pregnant with twins. Excited about this news I shared it with my co workers & management. I never thought me being pregnant would affect my job, until my hours were cut drastically. Even with the holidays just passing prior to me being pregnant my hours were cut due to the holidays they didn’t want many people on the schedule at once!! I was hired part time which is what I wanted being I am also a full time student. I went to working 27 hours to 10 hours a week. I would work 5 days out the week to 1 day every week. Mind you I was paid bi weekly. They told me I wasn’t dependable but they didn’t wanna fire me either. So from that I was on the schedule to not being on the schedule at all. I’m a 28 year old adult who has real bills & two new babies on the way! You would think some people would have a understanding but not this company. I was forced to accept this outcome & just continue with school while being unemployed. Mind you bills are still coming along with these two babies. Due to me being high risk I couldn’t allow this situation to stress me out but I have & is suffering from depression due to this. I been putting in job applications still, nothing yet. I am not a slouch I don’t mind working even while being pregnant... I still desire to work doing something.

We got notice that as of today, March 17, all stores will adjust their hours from 6AM -6PM and schedules will remain as is. After the store closes, workers scheduled for closing shifts will be responsible for pack down, freight orders and intense deep cleaning.

All part time workers will be given 40 hours sick time and FT will be issued 80 hours of sick time to be used as needed till the end of November 2020. Hours not used will be paid out.

This is really great for employees. We also have a lot of measures in place for handwashing, cleaning and sanitizing!!

This is happening in Boston, but is something to look for in your own home/city/area, Stop and Shop, a local grocery store, is opening for Senior/age 60+ only shopping hours from 6 - 7:30 AM, allowing for some of the population most at risk from COVID-19 to shop with fewer people around, less risk to themselves, and the chance to pick up items that might have been hoarded otherwise. This is a good example of making changes to support our communities during this unique time of challenge. What can you do to make life easier for your neighbor?

I work the moonlight shift at a 24hr Walmart downtown. We were told this weekend that we are running at reduced hours bc of the Coronavirus- 9 am to 9 pm.

Since my overnight shift is no longer a thing, I was given some daytime shifts. But this week I was only scheduled 18 hours. I usually work 45 - 50 hours per week........

I know we ALL need hours and I don't want to complain. I am grateful to still have some hours. But man these next few weeks are gunna be rough as HELL financially.

Freaking out, how am I to get by if they shut down all restaurants after 3pm? I simply won't get my hours that I need, and with this pandemic going on who's really going to be hiring?

I was chatting to a woman stocking eggs at the grocery store this morning, and she said her son was asked to leave a construction job because he coughed, and the folks on the site didn't want to take chances... Do you think that's fair? #Coronavirus

Everyone has been talking about ''social distancing'' because of the coronavirus. My boss is assuming that deliveries will go up (I work at a pizza shop) but what if the opposite happens?

If we shut down I won't have any source of income. I have a family at home! What are my options-if any??

Many employees in the food industry will not get PTO during the Coronavirus epidemic which seems CRAZY considering they serve food daily. This exposes more individuals to any potential illnesses.

Companies should treat all workers the same and if they are not feeling well they should encourage them to stay home and offer their support!

A small handful of companies like Trader Joe's and Starbucks are supporting their workers and offering them paid sick leave, and for that we commend them!

This article discusses what exactly is going on in the foodservice industry concerning the Coronavirus. https://www.eater.com/2020/3/5/21166187/food-service-workers-without-paid-leave-cant-afford-coronavirus-quarantine

If you could stay home without pay and avoid Corona or come in and earn money and possibly be at risk, which would you choose?

Last night I had a physical therapy appointment for a running-related injury in my foot. As I will be working from home for the next week it will now be more difficult for me to go to PT. This got me thinking. First, now that PT is further away maybe I should skip for a week or more. But then I was thinking ... why am I going to PT at all during this pandemic??

The state I live in has declared a state of emergency and yet my physical therapist is still seeing 15+ patients a day, many for non-critical injuries like mine. I had a very interesting conversation with her about this. Apparently her employer (a hospital mind you!) has a policy that encourages her to continue to come to work (where she has physical encounters with upwards of 60 people a week). If she were to stay home she would lose her hard earned vacation time and go in to a PTO debt with the hospital. She has family events coming up like a wedding and needs what little PTO she has to go to that.

This hospital has done nothing to encourage patients not to show up during this public health crisis. I feel strongly that their lack of action in this regard not only puts their staff at risk but their patients as well. Sure, I will likely be ok, but what if I were to unknowingly contract the virus, pass it to my physical therapist, and she passes it to another, older, patient that she sees after me?

Does anyone have any advice for how to spark action in a situation like this? I want to be armed with as much factual evidence as possible going forward at the very least.

Shark ninja used to a good place to work, until a 3rd party Ryder took over and screwed things up, they laid off everybody from the agency including me, that was there for years that knew the job and hire a bunch of new people that don't have a clue what they're doing? And let go a lot of good people, now they don't know what they're doing and are slaving people to work 12 hrs shifts 7 days a week
