For an opportunity to experience a diverse environment and engaging with everyday people. You need to feel comfortable around people. You also need to be familiar with customer service and how to cope with different situations. Its a WOW experience and great to enjoy.
What I love about Working for Sears is that is has a nice working environment. The ability to work alone and yet everyone works for the same purpose; to maintain one goal, to make as much money and bring as much money to the company. I enjoy working at my own pace. Also, time management is something you must learn to achieve when working on the entire United States Region; which is what I do.

When they brought in this new loss prevention supervisor and her job was to rid the company of all employees that had been there for a number of years and making $ 10& above so first she cut my hours from 25 to 3 or5 hours and wouldn't give me an explanation why & once it was determined that they were going to close down they started firing employees with a lot of time on job so they wouldn't have to pay them there severance pay.
My biggest mistake at Sears in Downers Grove, IL was accepting the job. That particular store is the worst job I have ever had! The pay is horrible, they offer no benefits, no pay raises, the managers are the most unpleasant people I have ever met. They treat their employees with the utmost disrespect. The assistant manager had an incident with me where she became physically aggressive because I told her that she was an unpleasant person. The store manager will always talk to you with a condescending approach if you don't know something. No other managers are willing to help teach you anything without an attitude. Every customer that comes in is extremely rude and considers you below them, but yet expects you to know how to solve every single one of their problems for them. If you can't, you better expect the worst attitudes from them. I would not recommend a job at Sears in Downers Grove, IL to my worst enemy! If you get a job offer from them, please just continue your search elsewhere!
When I was a cashier I had to ask for a social security number and the elderly man took his teeth out and the number was inscribed on them lol
