Six Sigma
A solid management team will always try to improve the quality in the manufacturing or distribution process in a company’s operations’. I have worked for an ISO 9000 company which ensures customers that the quality of a product is going through several phases of quality inspections before it is shipped to the customer so it is 100% accurate.
Sometimes quality inspections take up to much time costing the company money that eats up their profit margin. This is when a company should implement “Six Sigma which will not only improve quality, it will eliminate unnecessary processes improving time and efficiency.
Six Sigma is a set of management techniques intended to improve business processes by greatly reducing the probability that an error or defect will occur. Here are some guiding principles management should consider when implementing Six Sigma. Work for the customer, the primary goal of any change you want to implement should be to deliver maximum benefit to the customer, find your problem and focus on it, remove variation and bottlenecks, communicate clearly and train team members, be flexible and responsive.
The Six Sigma process is implemented majority of the time in the warehouse industry. You can get a certification that you have been trained in Six Sigma. I have my Six Sigma certification from the University of La Verne and I actually had my former employer pay for my certification along with my Business Degrees with their tuition reimbursement program. I can’t stress enough that if your employer has a tuition reimbursement program, take advantage of the opportunity for a free education. I can guarantee to you it will help your career growth.

Ok, like-minded folks, anyone know of a well-rooted company, in the otr, tractor trailer/distribution industry, that will train those of us seeking CDL-A knowledge?? Getting paid whilst we are being trained would be ,the absolute 'bee's knees' in my new direction.... I've got backgrounds in, Landscaping/Lawn care, 20+years, cultured marble & granite (fabrication & installation)10+years, Fencing products, & installation, 6+years, maintenance technician4+years, heavy equipment operator/maintenance etc,, seeking a "not so manual labor intensive "position....... 👍✌
