@Alyssa McLellan on the Jobcase team shared that her mom leaves snacks and water outside for delivery drivers to take when they drop off packages. I loved this. And now do it myself, What other ideas are out there to brighten the day of Frontline workers who take care of us all? Or, if you are a frontline worker- what examples do you have of customers who brightened your day. Please share and help us all figure out how best to brighten each other’s day.

Don’t worry it’s extremely easy, pay attention to any and everything including your co workers. If you are a fast learner I applaud you I suggest you do help others to catch up. Be patient with customers and remember that you are also a customer as well at other stores. Everyone here is a team no matter what.

I've made a lot of close friends. The medical staff there is the best that I've had the pleasure of working with.

In the Corporate world when I was younger, I was told that I am there to work. Making friends is a added plus, but not necessary. Funny thing is, I have several friends from that job that I am still in touch with over the past 30 years....

I was out in another county on a river when I decided to stop in a brand new hardware store and a good friend who had moved away years ago waited on me!!! In the town that I was in, they have an open carry/concealed weapons law, so I was carrying, that's why my belly in the jacket looks so big. You have to be careful out in the wild where I live now.

Why is there a prevalence of bullies and a marked lack of integrity in so many work places now? People are lying, engaging in illegal practices and activities, and getting away with it? What used to be considered unacceptable is not only tolerated, but is now considered the norm in many situations. HOW is this even possible in the medical field, or any other? I was once told that I was going to be run out because I " work too hard and we try to work as little as possible here" They , the coworkers, made a plan, set me up, falsely accused me of wrong doing and ran me out. All because I did my job and took pride in my work. (The accusation cracked me up in this instance because they told the doctor that I gave the patient incorrect instructions. How? I DO NOT speak Spanish and tha patient ONLY spoke Spanish.) I have seen a marked lack of integrity and find it shocking. Harassment, name calling, racism, actual sabotage and abuse seems to be acceptable now IF the victim is caucasian in appearance.
Why is a lack of integrity considered the norm now in so many organizations? What happened to taking pride in a job well done and done correctly? ( kinda important in the medical field) What happened to INTEGRITY as a whole?

My boss has set up a weekly after-work gathering for our department on Fridays. The company pays for some appetizers, and he wants us to get to know eachother more outside of work.

I went to the first one, but then it became a regular thing. My family is waiting for me to come home and I'm ready for my weekend to start! But I'm also concerned my boss will think poorly of me if I don't attend, he's easily offended. Any advice is appreciated.

Your family comes first, and if they are waiting for you skip the social event. If need be explain to the boss that you have family at home, waiting for you. If he/she doesn't understand that it may be time to look for another job. Good Luck.

The hardest thing is dealing with the different types of people and personalities. I have 70 full time staff members and every single one of them I have to approach in a different way. Your not managing a job site you are managing people!
