I work as a sub teacher - & like it! Only I'm lucky if I make $2000 mo, supporting myself. We are paid once a month on the 10th from 2 months back. This month, March, we will get paid for Dec - we were off for 3 wks due to the Winter Holidays. This is the first year I don't have much savings. My roommates & myself need to move out of the house by mid March, as the owner is moving back. I have a cat - hard to find rentals that allow that. Looked at a place this morning, & the lady is thinking about it. (is this bad karma or what?) I was worried, so I took a cash advance out for $2200 & the payments are going to be $100/mo! (my family have not responded in lending me $$).

Can you think of any other option?

Don’t work there. At least not at the scottsdale or Glendale location. Management is absolutely terrible. There’s been some crazy stuff that’s happened there and I was so happy when I quit. One of the employees hit one of the kids and denied it. Someone stole money and merchandise from the location. You will probably never see the manager if you work at Glendale and they don’t communicate anything to you. They don’t respect you at all

Kumon is a happy environment. The children are receptive and enjoyable. The staff works hard and nicely with the students. It is a great place for children to boost up their knowledge. Everyone likes it there.

I have been applying for hundreds of jobs and all has been unsuccessful. I'm getting slightly disappointed here. It seems like the ONLY thing I qualify for is to be a substitute teacher which is NOT enough to pay rent and car payment.

I've been a Post-Secondary teacher for almost 11+ years. I was fired today, according to 'them' for not showing up to work. I have sick/vacation time and followed protocol to contact them that I won't be in. Anyway, onward and forward!!!

I was hired and assigned in Camden to teach at risk students and I had great support from the city board of education. I began my teaching experience at Hatch Middle School/mainstream education. I enjoyed the experience and support I got from the administration and faculty, Camden has a great education program with great accomplishments at Camden High, Hatch Middle, and Cream. My advice to anyone considering applying for a teacher position at the Camden City Board of Education is to do so. I gained my greatest teaching experiences at the Camden, NJ Board of Education Schools.
