I was always proud. I am still an employee of the United States Postal Service. I am out on injured bc of USPS. But the Postal Service doesn't have a place for all injured employees that are mail carriers. I hope they will eventually find me a job within. If not I will have to look elsewhere sadly. Im a proud employee.

The pride I got from doing a job that mattered. To the customers at least

Especially as an RCA/Rural Carrier- prepare for micro-management, stick up for yourself! YOUare the only one who will! If you can handle that, the job itself is actually quite nice, and the pay is good!

Got "beat-up pretty good" verbally. Timecard people shied away while seemed to be the "flavor of the month" to management picking on me more. All too much ego involved.

I was a full-time Branch Union President for 14 years, State President 4 years. I met many people all over the country and loved it. I knew the management structure well and structure of timecard employees as well, even better. I was the Southwest distributor of "involved" for a long time, loved helping people.

Being outside congregating with various people

One thing that would have improved my job at United States Postal Service is the opportunity to become a permanent employee. I was employed as a Temporary, e.g. "casual". However in Dec of 2010 I was laid off because I was too old according to the newly appointed Post Master General.. I did take and successfully pass all requirements for a custodial position.

Great job, just have to learn to deal with negative people daily
