Tred of #backgroundchecks hindering me from working

This has been happening numerous of times lately to me. I get an excellent job offer only to lose it after they run a background check. I been working as a server for half a decade and I'm burned out on it but it seems like all that is offered to me is server jobs. I'm college educated in both business and psychology, excellent communicator, manager skills, sales experience, receptionist skills and excel at customer service. Is there anything I can do to get the potential employer to look past that? It is something that occured over 12 years ago a small drug possession charge that still haunts me. I been sober from alcohol for over 7 months and drug free over 5 years. I don't understand why I keep getting beat into the ground over this. Any suggestions to help me would be welcomed. #jobsearch #application #backgroundchecks #discrimination #job #advice #OfficeAssistant #Sales

I live in Jacksonville, Fl and I'm always seeing the news reports say there are plenty of jobs hiring. I have been looking for a very long time. I'm well qualified so you would thing there wouldn't be a problem. I have had some info stolen. Do you think it could be something coming up in my background checks that I'm not aware of? If so, how can I find it out. No one likes to tell you what the background checks say, they just skip over you.

I can't seem to work anymore because of a 40 yr old criminal record

Will a misdemeanor disqualify me from a job I was already hired and they said will do the backround check and then get a hold of me.

This brief video offers excellent information on what you need to know about employment background checks, including:
------> What records are investigated.
------> What employers are allowed/not allowed to ask.

A week ago, a jobcase poster indicated that he thought his felony conviction was probably the cause of him not getting selected for a particular position. At that time, I indicated that, at least in California and I suspected elsewhere, that a felony conviction could no longer be a automatic dismissal for consideration for a position. This is the "statement" that employers are now posting; "We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring". I am not sure if this is true in other States, but it does bear looking into.

Do target do background check

What if employees could do background checks on the person hiring them? What would we find. Probably not as good as you might think. So why condem a person from getting a job because of their background, when the the person that is hiring you has a shady background ad well?

Never incriminate yourself ever. Dont disclose your background... if you dont have to. Do not trust Jobs or HR departments they are not your friend. Stay Educated , make yourself a asset.
