My shift is 3-11 p.m. As of last month, my boss said he wants 2nd shift staff to come in at 2:30 to help am crew with their transition.

BUT he won't let us punch in until 3 PM on the dot.

Basically, he wants us to work for free 30 minutes every shift. He says it's fair because we "dont do as much" as night crew because guest traffic is typically slower.

I want to bring it up to his superior but I don't want to get in trouble.

Do you think this is fair?? Am I overreacting?!
