I was 45, lost my job, and spent the better part of a FULL YEAR trying to find another position. That job lasted only 3 months due to the owner deciding to cut some positions, and I couldn't bring myself to go through the nightmare I had previously trying to find a job. I had always toyed with the idea of self-employment. The one thing I felt I could do well was write and started taking steps to make that a reality. After reading everything about freelance writing I could find, I finally realized my lack of credentials and recent writing experience was a major obstacle I had to overcome. No one was going to pay me a penny based on my word alone! So, I did what any insane 50-year-old woman would do; I enrolled in school (online) and pursued a degree. This was a major risk, as I didn't have a great track record of finishing things I started. (That was all prior to being diagnosed with ADD and treated with good meds.) Not only did I earn my bachelor's degree for technical writing, but I did it with an extremely high GPA. I wasn't as stupid as I believed. By the time I graduated I was 55 and already had started taking on some freelance writing jobs. I also studied and took the exam to become a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), which wasn't really something I planned, but someone I knew well, had worked with, and trusted, was doing this type of work and basically coerced me into joing the "fun!" Once I heard what kind of money she earned I admit I got more interested. Anyway, that was in 2010 ( I was 55) and I've been a self-employed freelance writer, specializing as a CPRW since that time. Success didn't happen overnight or easily but at least now I had the skills, education, experience, and maturity to make it work and I've never regretted my decision. #ageism #advice #jobsearch #resume #self-employment

I'm 72 old looking for a job application for me to make extra money for bills. I have dissabilities to

Being on disability, I feel that I can still work but only for Amazon Flex or Gopuff since they let you set your own hours. I honestly don't know day to day how many hours I'll be able to work and when. I receive tons of emails and text messages stating that there are Amazon Flex and Gopuff delivery driver positions inside. When I open the email and open the appropriate link, I have yet to see a response from Amazon Flex and Gopuff's application always gets a message to the effect that I've already begun the application process for Gopuff and I need to wait to hear from them. I'm not holding my breath because they don't reply. I would like to update my application for both companies since I've learned a lot in the past few months about how to make my resume stand out. I don't even know if I submitted my resume but if I did, I know that it's out-of-date since I recently made significant improvements. #application

I reread the comments responding to my first question and it sounds like Social Security disability benefits are now limited by the number of hours that I work and not a dollar amount anymore. I definitely need to call Social Security for updates.

The client was not ready with his documents on the audit date. The employees were still working on them when the auditors landed for compliance inspection. The audit was in a different city and the auditors travelled by train to reach the office. It was a city with sea and a beautiful beach. I was one among the auditors. We had a very warm welcome and to our surprise, the owner of the business insisted on us visiting the beach before starting the audit. He took us to the beach and to a synogaug. That was the first time I ever visited a synogaug.

UTILITYS Certification Services dealt with providing quality management system certificates like ISO 9001. UTILITYS held India license to provide UKAS accredited Certification International (CI) certificates. Certification International is in Swindon, UK. I am a Quality management auditor myself and accompanied industry specific auditors to client sites during compliance audits. I prepared client files for certification. My job also involved interaction with certification body at Swindon, UK. I gained exposure and knowledge about different industries viz textiles, shipping, education, construction, automobile, healthcare etc. etc. I loved working at UTILITYS because they recognised my hardwork, dedication and compensated me accordingly.
I'm aware that Social Security disability benefits and the Return to Work/Trial Period /permitted earnings are as follows. I can get a job as part of the Return to Work program with unlimited earnings for the 9-month Trial Period. Once the Trial period is over, that's when the earnings become restricted to continue to receive Social Security disability benefits. I should point out that during the 9-month trial period that has no earnings restrictions, I will continue to receive Social Security disability benefits. I have to submit my paychecks to Social Security so they can keep track of how many months I've been working as part of the Return to Work Program. After the 9-month trial period, the permitted earnings vary from year to year. I tried working part-time as a cashier as part of the Return to Work program but soon learned that I can't work a part-time job or full-time job being on my feet for virtually the entire shift even if it's only for 4 hours so I had to leave my cashier's job and look for something that wouldn't require me to be on my feet the whole time. I believe that a delivery driver position with the right company would be Ideal. However, I won't be able to drive a vehicle other than my d of September. That's an issue with PennDOT, not Social Security and is a very long story that I won't bore you with other than to say that I 'm trying to have the September date moved up because I was given incorrect information that PennDOT is currently investigating especially since I was able to provide proof that I should have been able to drive any vehicle besides one requiring a CDL on September 12th, 2021. As I mentioned, it's a long story. The only other thing that I was told by a Social Security disability representative that they only count the 9 months if I earn a certain amount of income. Since I never exceeded that amount while working as a cashier, when I go back to work, the 9-month trial period hasn't started. I realize that this is all rather confusing and I'm going off a phone call with Social Security disability over a year ago but it was pretty clear to me how the program works. As far as I know, nothing has changed except the permitted earnings after the 9-month trial period. It might have been two years ago since at the time, I was told the earnings restriction after the 9-month trial period was $1260 gross which I was also told that it increased every year. The only thing that I'm fuzzy on is during the 9-month trial period, even though there are no earnings limitations, Social Security starts to count the 9-month trial period if I earn a certain amount. I guess I need to call Social Security to go over the details again especially the earnings. I apologize for such a long response and if you have any recent information about the Social Security Return to Work/Trial Period program, please respond to this message. I believe someone responded that the permitted earnings after the 9-month trial period had increased to $1360. I also believe that that's $1360 gross, not net. I would appreciate any comments, corrections or updates. Thanks.
