So after applying to Giant Eagle, jobs filled quickly and in spite of my incessant pestering, things were closed. However, they recently called me for an interview and trained me within the week. Everybody is so supportive. We laugh and joke when we don't have customers. I don't feel shut out if I need help. So if any of you have a Giant Eagle nearby and they're hiring, go for it. You won't be sorry.

I worked at Fresh Food Manufacturing for three years. Started out as a hard job but fresh out of college and new to living on my own, it was all I knew. It wasnt until about a year and a half of working there I realized that I was being paid an unfair amount for the amount of work I was completing on a daily basis. All new management was added, along came new rules. Every day there was a new rule, created by the wonderful thoughtful HR staff. Our six person shift dwindled down to three people after two workers quite. Another worker put in his two weeks notification and a week later was terminated for calling off work because his daughter was sick and he had no one to care for her. My manager picked one favorite out of the bunch. He would give harder work to only cetin individuals. Refured to a worker as "not so great Nate" daily. Would read bible verses at the beginning of every shift. I was verbally attacked by my manager multiple times, both times I went to HR and there seemed to be no action that took place. I was treated with absolutely no respect and was constantly being targeted with write ups day after day for things that I wasnt the only one doing. For example, if I refused to help the second shift pick after my shift was completed then I would be written up but if someone else on my shift says no I'm not picking and my manager says okay you dont have to and lets them go home on time. That isn't right and that was an every day thing working for FFM. It was Hell.
