I felt proud when this lady came through my line and was buying all her groceries and also wanted our four for $10 promotion. She said she would come back for the waters. An hour passed and she still hadnt come and i saved her receipt. I walk to the bathroom where a coworker is talking to her and surprised like me because she didnt come back for her water. She says her ride didnt come and she cant walk because she had problems with her back and feet. She says she was trying to eat the food she bought at our cocina before it got cold but she didnt know what to do, she didnt have anywhere to take her groceries or water. We asked her where she lived and sure enough it was close. My coworker and i offered to get her an uber and helped her with all her stuff since she couldnt even walk let alone lift.i knew i walked in to the right place at the right time. We have a customer for life. She comes for all her shopping needs. And thats when i was proud to work for cardenas. #humanitarian #passiton #bekind #OneLove #BeGenerous #groceryStore # #coworkers #customerservice #motivation #spreadLove

Being abke to meet ppl and learn what new items they have.

I shop several times a week at my corner grocery store so I figured I might as well work there right? Well, I spoke in person to the assistant manager who kept telling me to come in the next week because a new store was being built in the next town, and they didn't have a tally yet of who was going to the new store and who was staying. Well, I went back again in two weeks like she requested and she replied, "Gee, has it been that long yet", and I assured her it had. Then she said they were not hiring yet and to look for the "hiring now" sign to be displayed in the window. OK, so I waited until it was up, and came back again, and she tells me the hiring manager is on vacation, and to come back the next week on Monday. I came back on Monday dressed to the nines for an interview, and what do you suppose I saw? Two employees taking down the hiring now sign!! I honestly felt like crying my eyes out. I asked one random cashier there if the manager was back yet, and she sheepishly told me that he actually had been gone for quite a while!! I then asked her to find me a manager, and then I told him that the assistant manager kept telling me to come back for four weeks, and then he proceeds to tell me that they had just finished hiring people that morning. He tells me that if any of the employees don't make it through training that he'll call me, and that I could reapply in two months. I told him I needed a job weeks ago. I asked him if I was too old (I'm only 63) and I'm in great physical shape. Of course he said I wasn't, but it really makes you wonder since most of the front cashiers were very young. All I wanted was to be a bag lady (no pun intended). In other words I was applying for the bagger position. I'm find looking for a job is not what it used to be, and all the rules have changed. Has anyone out there ever had this happen to them? My Aunt told me to keep going back because they probably just wanted to see if I was really interested in the job, and then my best friend told me they just didn't want me. You would think I had three heads or something. I've been told I'm a very friendly and attractive person, and friendly is what they asked for in their on-line application. Why didn't they just come out and tell me the truth instead of leading me on for weeks?
