Believing in your own abilities is the highest form of self-confidence.

Let’s adopt the mindset of these gorgeous birds.

Their trust and confidence is not on the branch but in themselves and their ability to fly should the branch break.

“The highest form of self-confidence is believing in your own ability to learn.” - Adam Grant

                               ♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️

Nothing builds self-confidence more than communicating assertively:

✔️ saying no to inconvenient or unreasonable requests ✔️ asking questions in meetings ✔️ paying compliments ✔️ accepting compliments gracefully ✔️ speaking up when treated unfairly ✔️ expressing ideas, opinions, suggestions publicly ✔️ never kicking yourself for what you wished you would have said

You have to look at professional life from the perspective of an accountant from the same perspective as your employer, that is, if you work full time it is 2,080 hours a year, this is what a year of your professional life is worth, you must understand, your employer rents you with your skills and knowledge for an amount of $000.00 an hour. First, you have to understand that your education had a cost that is $000,000.00, and you have to see your age for example 30 years and the time you plan to retire as for, example, 65 years which means that your useful life is 35 years this is multiplied X by 2,080 hours per year under this hypothetical example you have 72,800 hours of useful life this poses a huge problem for you your professional life is on a stopwatch and every hour you spend on a job will not be recovered as I can exemplify by means, of an analogy you would be similar to the depletion accounting used in natural resources, the forests that extract the wood or used by the mining companies you extract an hour of your professional life that you cannot recover again unless you are an immortal being, but you are a mortal, for this reason, will one day retire. You already understand how the human resources company extracts from your professional life a resource that will not return, it takes away your time, for this reason, it is a fallacy, a lie that you should not change jobs for better pay, take control of your professional life and offer your valuable time to the employer that offers you the best labor compensation. #jobsearch #wordsofadvice #inspiration #interview #1

I love reading lots of great job search and work advice about putting yourself first. Seems like there are lots of different ways to approach it. How do you usually prioritize yourself?

  • 💯Know where to draw the line and say no when necessary
  • 👏Know when to ask for help so you’re not carrying all the weight on your shoulders
  • ❤️Carve out me time and know when to take a break before burning out
  • 🤔Know what your triggers are and communicate your work styles in advance

I work in the oil fields of west texas, I work a 14days on and 7 days off schedule, i am away from home during that time, I know a lot of people that work in there days off, and they burn out quickly, my work days are 12 to 14 hr days, of course being away from home, my days consist of work and hotel room, those days I give to my employer. My days off are my days and I don’t even think about work and don’t except calls from work or really even personal calls from my friends at work, those days are for my and my family.

You have to understand that everything is generational, the Baby boomers (1949-1968) wanted and yearned to have a yoke, a kind of boss, a master. Generation X (1969-1980) had learned behaviors about loyalty to bosses at work and the yoke of a boss. The millennial generation (1981-1993) was influenced by new technologies and has changed the way of seeing life, that is, life is more than a job, it is more than a yoke of perpetual labor slavery for 3 or 4 decades with the same employer. It is a generation that seeks balance. Human Resources departments and institutions must understand the generational change, the new generations of employees will not live to work, they will work to live, that is, if the mentality is not changed, generation Z and Alpha will come with even greater challenges. The reality is that people want a job that gives them a quality of life, not modern slavery, we have to rethink that the new generations do not see supervision or see their bosses as little gods, they see them as equals, and that's why the mentality they must be changed, or they will lose labor competitiveness. #motivation #1 #wordsofadvice #inspiration #jobsearch #advice

When a member of the human capital performs performances that their effectiveness and efficiency exceed the norm of managerial performance. They have to understand that human resources are used as an asset of the company to run its operation. What happens when you exceed the average and perform roles that instead of being one more gear with a normal performance for the execution of the business. You perform roles that re-engineer the business to the degree that it increases corporate performance. You may be seen as an innovator, but at the same time, you will be seen as a threat to the livelihood of the board of directors members. Furthermore, you have to understand that whether it's for-profit or not, the corporation runs on corporate performance metrics. I have to tell you honestly that with your academic preparation and your years of experience, you fill the characteristics to start a new corporation that can compete with your previous employer or can work within the same sector as your previous employer. Life is a cycle the mind should not always be in retirement, the goal can be in entrepreneurship, learning several decades of experience, and then creating a new corporate. #wordsofadvice #jobsearch #advice #inspiration

I love people and if I can help anyone through advice, how to do something, such as how to set up a guest room, guest bath, or just to make a gift basket, I’m there. Anything to discuss life in general. Do you have to like a certain lifestyle or don’t you? That’s your business and if someone is truly your friend they will understand. My life now finds me answering many questions pertaining to just the few things I mentioned. Young women find great interest as do som young men in all such things. I feel even at my age there is always room to improve myself and with proper training I can learn about anything. I am a 73 year old, retired Nrs Assistant of thirty five year; an almost ten year lung cancer survivor, married 31 years. I have 2 grown sons from a previous marriage, 2 grandchildren, and am going to be a great grandmother in November of this year. I am a Christian and believe we all need a little something to keep us all in God’s graces. But it’s up to an individual what they want to believe, not me. I need something to help me financially and keep me in sound mind. Working will do that for me.

Patience. Yes, there are lots of positions out there - in the service industry. If that's what you want, you're in luck. If not, it's an employer's market. They can afford to be picky. On the other hand, job seekers need to be picky as well. After all, it's your life. Yeah, they say that if it isn't a good fit, you can just get another job. Took me 7 years to move on after I took a bad job. Never let fear or gratitude move you, if you think it isn't right. Remember, this is your life. #wordsofadvice #jobsearch #inspiration #advice
