Not everyone is the same

Just keep looking. The right roll will come along. You may go through many wrong interviews or accept the wrong offers before the right position comes along.

Keep on applying and the right one will come along.

Your manager lets you know they plan on leaving and the company intends to hand the role to you, however, you’ve been actively negotiating with another employer and were planning to leave, how would you react in this scenario?

I would stay and give it a try. I may like it.

It depends on why I was intending on leaving in the first place.

How would you react to your employer completely switching your schedule with very little notice?

Find out the situation. And see if there could be some kind of compromise both ways.

Say " Im sorry you are leaving, you were great to work with. I'd be happy to follow in your footsteps - can you give me some pointers just in case they DO offer me the position? Never say more than that! Express interest, and butter him/her up, then stay or walk as you see fit. Do NOT commit yourself to staying until a written offer is made. You don't want to say yes, have them string you along, then you miss your chance at Job 2, and find out later that they do not offer the position to you after all. Be wise.

“Whose work, thinking, or leadership do you find most inspiring or influential in your professional development, and why?”

“Have you ever encountered any job offers, recruiters, or employment situations that turned out to be misleading or fraudulent? If so, how did you handle it?”
