Well I worked for Goodwill for almost 4 years my advice to new people looking for this particular job would be have an understanding of what goodwill is. Do your research. When I first started I had never been to the goodwill I ended up working for. They are great people and a good company to work for but I had wished I had shopped there first before my first meeting with the assistant manager at the time. I started there as a volunteer at the end of 2012 and after 2013 came I was hired. In short do your homework before going into any job. I loved it there but I wished I had studied ahead. They are also good for people like me who can’t handle a cash register.

It's what you make of it, you go in smiling people will smile back at you.

Letting the truck drivet talk me into doing a manual check in amd not using the scan gun because the driver was running late

It’s a great job all of your co workers are really cool and the manager she’s the best boss you’ll ever have .

meeting the different people that came into the store that actually purchased their stuff and didn't steal it.

Honestly most of my experiences there were okay. The other employees were kind. It was for the most part "trans inclusive." Meaning my identity was not an issue getting hired. The candy really was good, I really liked candy making but the co-ownwr's agressive behavior and demeanor made me very uncomfortable. If you are easily susceptible to anxiety situationally or othwrwise, expect little accomidation from this employer. Also, the mode of pay was entirely on the "honor system." Checks were written by hand with pay rate and other info included. Convienent for some, but understandably not for others...

Thinking I could work there without my health problems getting in the way
