Last week, I celebrated my third year anniversary with my current employer. It is hard to believe that prior to that I was unceremoniously let go from a company that was simply not a good fit, though I put in almost two years there before it became mutually obvious that I was not a fit.
My world was rocked, even though I saw the writing on the wall. Until then, I had never been fired from a job before. It was a humiliating experience to know that this employer didn't find value in the work I was performing. It was work I had done for years and in which I excelled.
I immediately updated my resume and started applying. The entire time I was employed, I had recruiters and companies coming out of the woodwork to offer me a job. Now that I needed them, the well dried up. To make matters worse, it was the End of October and I knew almost no company was going to be hiring until after the holidays.
I did odd jobs, paid bills on credit, worked the gig economy, and relied on unemployment to get by. But it was a slog! Money was drying up and things were starting to look bleak.
I had been using the big forums like Indeed to apply to no avail. Someone recommended Jobcase and I begrudgingly signed up. That is when I knew I had stumbled onto something special. It was more than just a job board. It was a community with helpful voices, people in the same boat with whom I could commiserate, and then there were the staff who were so welcoming and helpful during the hardest time of my life (at that moment).
I was out of work for several months but I finally landed a job. I worked there for about two months when I realized it was not too dissimilar to the place from which I was fired. I was also not doing what I was told I would be doing.
I was contacted by a recruiter for my current employer and went through a whirlwind interview process and was offered a job after my 2nd interview. I took my concern to Jobcase, wondering if it is in poor taste to jump ship so soon after starting. I was told to weigh the pros and cons, and to not worry about putting the company in a bad spot; because companies do not extend that same courtesy to the employees.
I bit the bullet and took the new job and now I have been there three years.
I have been a part of this Jobcase community for almost 4 years now and I am still so thrilled to have discovered such an awesome site. It is truly what you make of it, and there are people here who want the best for you and to help you on your journey if you let them.
Thank you Jobcase staff and fellow members of the forum!

Good day everyone, since I last communicated with some I was at a point where I was at a frustrating time because I couldn't find any stable employment and was ready to throw in the towel. Ten months out of work with only one interview that went south after a three hour wait. With all of your thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement, I am thrilled to share with you all that I have accepted a position with a private EMS company. For those who are still searching, keep pushing and keep praying until something.
